Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Sr. Operational Excellence Manager to develop and drive the OpEx culture for NADL warehousing and logistics.

The role ensures a culture of excellence, empowering the operations team to achieve high performance and meet financial goals. The ideal candidate will have a BS in engineering or science, Lean Six Sigma training, 5 years in biopharma production, and strong computer skills, with 8+ years in engineering/operations preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or Science required.
• Training in Lean and Six Sigma improvement methodologies required.
• 5 years experience in biopharmaceutical production or related areas required; 8+ years engineering/operational experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Establish OpEx culture by defining action plans to provide tools, training and expertise.
• Champion a data-driven, problem-solving culture to investigate issues and set action plans.
• Lead and develop scenarios aligned with business strategy and goals.
• Own metrics and KPI development to harmonize with other regions.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and cycle times; lead implementation and PM efforts.
• Train and mentor staff on OpEx tools to improve capabilities.
• Lead strategy sessions with Senior Management and their teams.
• Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders across procurement, quality, BTS and finance.
• Lead program teams to plan, execute, monitor cost and performance to meet goals.

Job Description

The Sr. Operational Excellence Manager will be responsible for developing and driving the Operational Excellence culture for the NADL warehousing and logistics teams. The Sr. Manager will ensure the fostering of a culture of excellence, empowering the operations team to achieve high performance and ensure sustainable results. The strategy must incorporate the integration of business knowledge, process improvement methodologies and personal soft skills to deliver business performance and meet / exceed financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Establish the Operational Excellence culture within the organization by defining action plans necessary to provide tools, training and expertise to support OpEx.
• Champion a data driven, problem solving culture to investigate issues and establish robust action plans.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and ability to develop scenarios and options aligned with the strategy and goals of the business.
• Own the metrics and KPI development and tools for the NADL team to ensure harmonization, effectiveness and ability to align with other regions.
• Identify opportunities to significantly reduce operating costs, cycle times and lead or direct the implementation efforts (including project management).
• Improve the capabilities of the organization by training and mentoring personnel on Operational Excellence tools.
• Lead strategy sessions with Senior Management and their teams.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders (including procurement, quality, BTS and finance).
• Establish and lead program teams to plan, execute, monitor cost, and performance to ensure that defined program goals are met.

• 5 years experience in biopharmaceutical production or related areas (required) and 8+ years of significant engineering and/or operational experience (preferred)
