Job description

Title: Sr. Operational Compliance Analyst

Location: Austin, TX/ Dallas, TX / Morristown, NJ / San Jose, CA (Hybrid/Flexible)

Reporting To : Director, Insurance & Compliance Operations

About Hippo:

Hippo was built on a promise: make homeownership effortless. Nearly a decade later, that mission still drives us. We use technology and data to help our customers stay ahead of problems and protect what matters most.

Today, that same tech-native approach powers our work beyond homeowners. Hippo operates as a diversified carrier platform, partnering with MGAs to deliver tailored program solutions that help them grow and deliver better customer experiences. Behind that work is a team that values ownership, curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

If you’re energized by building what’s next, we’d love to meet you.

About The Role:

You’re an insurance operations or compliance professional with 5+ years of experience who thrives on bringing order to complexity — you can take a dense regulatory requirement and translate it into clear, actionable direction the business can actually execute on. You’re highly organized and comfortable owning multiple concurrent workstreams and deadlines without someone checking in on you, and you naturally spot process gaps and fix them before they become bigger problems.

You’ve worked cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Operations, or Product teams, and you communicate complex regulatory language in a way that builds trust rather than confusion.

You take pride in accuracy and follow-through, whether that’s a data call response, a carrier audit, or a state recovery filing, and you’re ready to step into a senior, high-visibility role where you’ll mentor peers and serve as the go-to person when compliance matters get complicated.

About You:

You are detail-oriented and comfortable operating in a regulated environment. You have experience handling escalated or compliance-sensitive matters and can draft clear, professional written correspondence.

You areconfidentcommunicating directly with customers in complex or sensitive situations and can remain composed and objective under pressure. You can navigate complex or escalated customer situations whilemaintainingregulatory integrity and objectivity.

You thrive in structured processes, manage competing deadlines effectively, and are comfortable collaborating cross-functionally to investigate and resolve complex issues. You are adaptable and willing to support broader Regulatory Response functions as needed.

You are someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has a strong understanding of billing operations and financial transactions. In addition to handling complex billing tasks, you will help support operational improvements and assist with onboarding and training new team members.

What You’ll Do:
