Responsibilities

• Performs technical examinations and procedures according to specialty.
• Directs and leads department functional activities and assignments of technical staff to accomplish daily workload.
• Ensures service development, personnel management and resource allocation and control in order to support and enhance patient care.
• Leads service provided within that modality and regularly provides patient care in that modality.
• Produces high quality diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and nuc med equipment.
• Assists practitioner with operation of radiation detection equipment.
• Orders radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear medicine procedures and prepares them for injection, ingestion or inhalation.
• Identifies radioactive substance to complete procedures.
• Processes and files films as needed.
