Job summary

Design Hire is seeking a Sr Nuclear Engineer for a remote role supporting EPU and MUR projects in commercial nuclear power generation. The ideal candidate has 10–14 years of nuclear systems, electrical, I&C, reactor engineering, or licensing experience and a strong track record with plant modifications and technical analyses.

Responsibilities include evaluating systems for modifications, performing engineering calculations, and coordinating with licensing, operations, and other engineering teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nuclear, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 10–14 years of engineering experience in commercial nuclear power generation.
• Experience supporting Extended Power Uprate (EPU) or Measurement Uncertainty Recapture (MUR) projects.
• Strong technical background in Nuclear Systems, Electrical, I&C, Reactor Engineering, or Nuclear Licensing.
• Experience with nuclear plant modifications, engineering evaluations, technical analyses, or design documentation.
• Nuclear systems engineering or plant operations experience is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with nuclear industry regulations, engineering standards, and plant design requirements.
• Preference for candidates with a stable employment history and involvement in long-term engineering projects.

• Support engineering activities associated with EPU and MUR projects, including plant modifications, technical evaluations, and system performance assessments.
• Perform and review engineering calculations, analyses, design documentation, and technical reports supporting nuclear plant operations and power uprate initiatives.
• Evaluate electrical, I&C, reactor, and plant systems to identify potential impacts of engineering modifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, licensing, and operations teams to support technical requirements, regulatory compliance, and project execution.
• Provide technical expertise in reviewing engineering changes, resolving technical challenges, and supporting safe and reliable nuclear plant operations.

Candidates with nuclear plant systems and operations experience are highly preferred.

• Familiarity with nuclear industry regulations, engineering standards, and plant design requirements.
• Preference for candidates with a stable employment history and demonstrated involvement in long-term engineering projects.
