Job summary

MiniMed seeks a Sr. NPI Manufacturing Engineer to design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, layouts, and equipment. You will collaborate with engineering to align product designs with manufacturing needs and drive corrective actions for process issues.

This on-site role at the Northridge, CA office requires a bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience (or an advanced degree with 2+ years). Travel up to 30% may be required, and a strong background in manufacturing and regulatory

Responsibilities

  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

About The Role

Minimed is seeking a Sr. NPI Manufacturing Engineer that will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes, production layouts, and equipment to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity. Collaborates with engineering teams to align product designs with manufacturing requirements, drives corrective actions for equipment and process issues, and ensures compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

This role is onsite at our Northridge, CA office.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Requires a Bachelors degree and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
Nice To Have
  • Prefer a degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous manufacturing experience including equipment validation and installation, yield improvement.
  • Able to manage multiple process validation going in parallel.
  • Ability to plan and execute with speed and accuracy
  • Statistical analysis knowledge
  • Experience with mechanical assembly equipment such as heat staking, adhesive dispense, electrical functional test equipment
  • Previous PM experience
  • Previous fixture design and deployment experience
Travel
  • Ability to travel 20% to 30% domestic and international

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$87,000.00 - $149,000.00

For roles located in California, Seattle WA, Washington DC, Boston MA, and New York City, the salary range is $97,000-$165,000 USD.

Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, education, certifications, skills, market conditions, internal equity, and geographic location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Short Term Incentive (STI).
