Job summary

Diné Development Corporation (DDC) is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to support DHA networked facilities in the Pacific Region, based in Honolulu, HI. The role focuses on diagnosing and resolving LAN/WLAN/WAN issues, advising government staff, and leading cross-functional teams to implement secure network solutions.

The position requires a DoD-backed security clearance (SECRET), DoD 8570.01 compliance, and CCNP/CISSP. Travel to work sites may be required; contingent on contract award.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5+ years directly related experience; or technical school + 10+ years.
  • DoD 8570.01 compliance; IAM Level III; CCNP and CISSP are required.

  • Identify and resolve complex LAN/WLAN/WAN issues for DHA networked facilities; advise government staff and contractors; lead teams to resolve issues; use management tools to diagnose across OSI model; document and update standards.

Sr. Network Engineer (Pacific Region)

Location: Honolulu, HI

Position Type: Full time

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and resolve complex LAN/WLAN/WAN issues, researching network-level problems with management tools, and providing high-level installation, configuration, documentation, and troubleshooting of communication equipment for DHA networked facilities in the Pacific Region. Advise government staff, agencies, and contractors on LAN/WLAN/WAN design, implementation, deployment, and management; lead Network Specialists and internal/external organizations to resolve issues; use Orion SolarWinds, ARMIS, Ansible and other tools to diagnose across the OSI model; support MIB/MRTG performance measurement; establish and configure firewalls, VPN devices, IDS; provide written recommendations, ticket documentation, and standards updates with NetMOD Network Standards Team; study vendor products; establish procedures and standards in compliance with DoD, DHA and DHA Pacific Regional Command objectives and policies; communicate request status to key customers; support standardization, best practices and related projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of directly related experience; or certified Technical/Vocational School completion and 10 years of directly related progressive experience. Mastery-level experience in routed, switched, and shared LAN environments required.
  • Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering, technical degree, or related discipline; or certified Technical/Vocational School completion with required experience.
  • Clearance Requirements: SECRET security level designation required.
  • Certification Requirements: DoD 8570.01 compliance; IAM Level III or equivalent certification required; CCNP and CISSP required.
  • Experience with DoD Health Care Information Systems, Windows networks, Cisco Systems, and Orion SolarWinds required; experience with Zero Trust architectures and methodologies desired; mastery of TCP/IP, XDM, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, RSTP, VRRP, BIND, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, PPP, HDLC, V.35, RS‑449, IEEE 802 standards, synchronous/asynchronous communications, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, FDDI, ATM, OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers, EIA/TIA standards, Microsoft OS, Windows Active Directory, UNIX, OpenVMS, routers, switches, terminal servers, and local/long-haul WAN connectivity. Must communicate effectively with Government officials, medical professionals, and highly specialized technical personnel.
  • Travel may be required to work site.
