Job summary

Day & Zimmermann Company in Philadelphia seeks an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and support the organization’s networking and communications infrastructure. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in a related field Required.
• 10+ years Required.
• Extensive experience with Cisco firewalls, routers, and switches.
• Experience with F5, Cloud Networking and other vendor networking equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and WAN protocols is essential.

Responsibilities

• Independently troubleshoot and resolve technical issues concerning remote access solutions including Cisco ASA Firewalls, F5 BigIP load-balancers, NAC, VPN server and client components as well as wireless networks
• Actively participate in architectural design and implementation of systems, infrastructure and related networking hardware
• Provide expert level support for all IT network and communications hardware and software; develop procedures for routine operations
• Analyze network, server, and storage systems; suggest upgrades and performance improvements
• Perform system upgrades and adopt new technologies minimizing user impact; monitor and tune network performance
• Coordinate wiring and equipment installations at remote sites; select data broadband options for connectivity

Primary person responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization’s networking and communications infrastructure. Role includes the implementation and design of hardware and software. Responsible for the security, performance, availability, and recoverability of the corporation’s networking and communications infrastructure, especially concerning network devices, network software, communications provider services, and all data connectivity. May direct the work of others.

Responsibilities

• Independently troubleshoot and resolve technical issues concerning remote access solutions including Cisco ASA Firewalls, F5 BigIP load-balancers, Network Access Control (NAC), VPN server and client components as well as wireless networks
• Actively participate in the architectural design and implementation of systems, infrastructure and related networking and communications hardware for the enterprise
• Ability to provide expert level support all IT network and communications hardware and software infrastructure for the corporation. Develop and document procedures for routine operations including troubleshooting, support, and administration. May direct the work of others.
• Analyzes network, server, and storage systems and recommends upgrades/changes; Provide testing and performance analysis of network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.
• Perform system upgrades and incorporate new technologies to the infrastructure minimizing effects on the user experience, working nights and weekends as necessary. Maintain system / network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
• Coordinate wiring and equipment installations at remote sites using various data communication vendors and remote site staff. Research, select, and coordinate the best data broadband or IP data communications options for remote office and corporate connectivity

KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• 10+ years of industry experience in installation, configuration and support of networking communications hardware and software. Extremely strong experience with Cisco firewalls, routers, and switches required. Experience with F5, Cloud Networking and other vendor networking and communications equipment strongly preferred.
• Strong expertise in installation, configuration, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN devices, network security appliances, and all data networking communications. Familiarity with VOIP technologies and related solutions preferred
• Strong abilities and expertise in independent support of Cisco switches, routers, access devices, and related communications protocols, especially TCPIP and WAN communications.
• Experience leading project independently and as part of a team, including reporting information to management and coordination of events and completion of documentationRelies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Ability to work in a multi-tasked environment prioritize and execute tasks in a highly dynamic environment. Knowledge of industry standard and innovative technology solutions and techniques to intelligently manage and support the infrastructure
