Job summary

Lennar is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to design, deploy, and operate a large enterprise network. You will lead automation efforts, participate in security and design reviews, and support WAN/LAN infrastructure across sites with a focus on uptime and performance.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, a relevant bachelor's degree, and familiarity with SD-WAN, F5, Palo Alto, and Cisco systems. Collaboration with Architects and IT teams is essential.

Job description

Sr. Network Engineer

The Sr. Network Engineer partners with other engineering teams and Enterprise Architects to design, deploy, manage, and operate a large enterprise network. The infrastructure consists of a mix of network switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, load balancers and cloud network/application services. The Sr. Network Engineer operates and maintains some or all these components while ensuring an uptime of 99.9%. This position will play a lead role supporting projects, enhancing automation, performing technology evaluations, deploying Network technologies, and will be tasked with the day-to-day operation of Lennar network infrastructure. In addition, this role will participate on process improvement, operational excellence, AI transformation, design, and standardization.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provides Tier 3 engineering support during critical operational incidents as necessary.
  • Maintains current network infrastructure and leverages the manufacturer for advanced support.
  • Maintains high network availability for redundancy and resilience.
  • Understands and accounts for peak load; manages peak load events.
  • Follows industry best practices, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for operational efficiency.
  • Optimizes, implements and monitors network performance.
  • Maintains and reacts to Enterprise-grade network monitoring system.
  • Works with automation tools and platforms such as GitHub, HashiCorp, and coding languages like Python, Terraform, Ansible to build automation workflows and increase efficiency.
  • Supports the deployment of network equipment for new office build outs.
  • Oversees the order and deployment of WAN circuits, including MPLS, DIA, Broadbands, VPN's and point-to-point circuits.
  • Supports the LAN wired and wireless infrastructure.
  • Deploys, operates and maintains F5 load balancing LTM and APM modules.
  • Works closely with Enterprise Security Office to implement reliable, manageable, and secure solutions that meet Network/Security Industry standards.
  • Assists in the deployment of Palo Alto SD-WAN and SASE (Prisma SD-WAN).
  • Performs security audits of the network system and improves the security posture.
  • Assists with disaster recovery setups, both on a global and site‑by‑site basis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Certifications such as ITIL, Cisco CCNP, or similar are preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years relevant work experience.
Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary. 10-20% of travel is required.

  • Must be self‑motivated with strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work effectively with clients, management, and staff members in a multi‑tiered, fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience working in previous large Enterprise Network Engineering role desired.
  • Ability to translate technical recommendations into a visual format for presentation to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with automation tools and CI/CD principles.
  • Proficient with Palo Alto SD‑WAN and SASE (Prisma SD‑WAN).
  • Expert with Cisco Meraki Networks, Catalyst and Nexus network switches, F5 load balancers LTM and APM products, Cisco ISR and ASR routers.
  • Knowledge of IP fundamentals, DNS, DHCP, and IPv4/IPv6.
  • Knowledge and expertise in Wireless LAN technologies.
  • Must demonstrate in-depth understanding of the OSI model.
  • Demonstrable knowledge in the design, implementation, troubleshooting and operations of data center technologies.
  • Firm understanding of operating systems, virtualization, network services for cloud enablement, and security.
  • Consistently able to solve connectivity problems to increase bandwidth, improve response times, maximize performance, and support global operations.
  • Extensive skills in WAN related architectures and technologies important to enterprises, such as MPLS, hybrid environments connectivity, IPsec and emerging technologies.
