Job summary

TCS is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to support the Army’s IAMD Battle Command System in Huntsville, Alabama. The role requires on-site work at a government facility and an active DoD clearance. You will manage network infrastructure, Linux compute platforms, and security posture while developing architecture diagrams and SOPs.

Candidates should have DoD 8140 certification, strong Cisco and VMware experience, and proficiency in scripting and cybersecurity practices.

Qualifications

• DoD 8140 certification (e.g., Security+ CE) is required.
• U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance.
• Previous support of government contracts.
• Active Cisco certifications (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, etc.).
• Experience with Cisco networks and network configuration.
• Experience with RHEL and Red Hat Satellite servers.
• Experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter.
• Experience with LAN/WAN management.
• Palo Alto firewall experience.
• Experience with Splunk, ELK, or similar.
• Familiarity with Network Technologies and Cybersecurity.
• Strong Linux system administration and scripting (Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience with hardware installation and firmware upgrades.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support network infrastructure systems and RHEL compute platforms.
• Maintain high availability networks and server clusters.
• Analyze, optimize, and plan capacity for network infrastructure.
• Oversee system administration, authentication, security accreditation, data storage and backup, physical infrastructure, and automation.
• Create architecture diagrams, technical designs, and SOPs.

Job Description

TCS is searching for a Sr. Network Engineer to support the United States Army’s Integrated Air and Missile Defense [IAMD] Battle Command System (IBCS). This system is used to protect the US and our allies from air and missile threats. This program integrates numerous air and missile defense systems (THAAD, PATRIOT, PAC‑3, IFPC) with various radars and sensors to effectively manage and operate these defensive weapons through a seamless battlefield management system.

These positions require US citizenship, an existing DoD clearance (Secret or higher), and on‑site work at a facility in Huntsville, Alabama (telework is not available).

Responsibilities

• Support network infrastructure systems and Red Hat Linux (RHEL) compute platforms
• Support and maintain high availability networks and server clusters
• Responsible for network infrastructure analysis, optimization, and capacity planning
• Accountable for system administration, identity and authentication, information system security accreditation, data storage and backup, physical infrastructure maintenance, and automation development
• Technical writing/creation of formal documentation such as architecture diagrams, technical designs, and SOPs

Qualifications

• 9+ Years with bachelor’s degree or; 7 Years with master’s degree or; 4 Years with PhD.
• Must have a DoD 8140 certification (ex: Security + CE)
• U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance
• Previous support of govt contracts
