Detailed Job Description:

Seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our IT Global Infrastructure team. The position is primarily responsible for the coordination of network operations balanced with the delivery of best-in-class customer service at our Austin Office. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with the ability to make logical decisions and quickly execute in a crisis situation. This position also requires a performance-driven individual who can meet deadlines as assigned, maintain a positive attitude, problem-solve, and deliver project-based objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Install, configure and support LAN, WAN, WLAN, and telephony communications systems in a large enterprise and factory environment for a global corporation.
  2. Primarily provide technical and networking administrative day-to-day support to internal Colorado users on all networking-related issues. Also provides assistance to project teams on project implementation.
  3. Provide support for common and advanced network administrative tasks related to the European network environment including backup and restore, port changes to switches, router interface creation, QoS, and routing modification.
  4. Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex and advanced regional networking/telephony problems and coordinate with vendors around WAN & LAN fault resolution.
  5. Utilize network monitoring tools to pro-actively identify and investigate historical issues.
  6. Provide problem isolation and resolution using Cisco software and diagnostics as well as third-party software products.
  7. Provide detailed documentation including as-built diagrams, system and network designs, and written recommendations to customers and account team.
  8. Coordinate the cabling infrastructure requirements and accommodate moves, adds, changes as appropriate in the growth and support of the businesses.
  9. Lead small projects to a successful conclusion within the required timeframe.
  10. Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercise good judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Follow company standard methods and procedures.
  11. Possess good teamwork and communication skills essential for success in this environment. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have good organizational and project skills, and will be strong on follow-up. Excellent technical knowledge and troubleshooting aptitude is required.

Job Requirements: Skills & Experience

  1. 5+ years relevant experience with Enterprise level Local Area networks.
  2. 5+ years relevant experience with Enterprise level WAN networks preferably MPLS.
  3. Experience in network infrastructure planning, testing, deployment, operations, and maintenance.
  4. Experience with capacity planning, utilization review, and performance monitoring.
  5. Tier 3 Global/Enterprise Network support background.
  6. At least one or more of the following: CCNP/CCIP and/or demonstrate capabilities at these levels.
  7. Detailed knowledge of OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and other common network protocols.
  8. Highly skilled in MPLS / IP VPN technology.
  9. Solid experience with Cisco hardware, especially configuring Cisco family of routers and switches.
  10. IPT Platforms Knowledge – Cisco, Microsoft Teams.
  11. WLAN platforms – Aruba.
  12. Good knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
  13. Knowledgeable in Cisco & F5 Load Balancing desired.
  14. Experience in WAN Optimization (Riverbed).
  15. Experience in Remote Access technologies – Cisco ASA, Juniper SA.
  16. Working knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory /DNS/TCPIP.
  17. Configuration of VLANs and ACLs in Cisco IOS.
  18. Experience in network management and monitoring tools.
  19. Experience working in an enterprise computing/datacenter environment.
  20. Knowledge of ITIL processes and change management practices (Desirable).
  21. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  22. Team player, strong contributor in teams.
  23. Organized, responsible and highly detailed problem solver.
