Job description

THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO LIST ALL OF THE DUTIES THAT ARE OR MAY BE PERFORMED IN THIS POSITION The ideal candidate will have experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) administration, policy design, network access control, device authentication, and segmentation strategies. Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) design, deployment, operations, automation, and troubleshooting within enterprise data center environments. Palo Alto Networks Firewalls, including security policy management, NAT, routing, Global Protect VPN, threat prevention, and advanced security services. VMware NSX network virtualization, distributed firewalling, micro-segmentation, and multi-site networking. VMware Aria Operations for Networks (vRNI) administration, network visibility, performance monitoring, flow analytics, troubleshooting, and operational insights. Extensive experience with DMVPN, IPSec VPNs, SSL VPNs, site-to-site VPNs, and other secure remote access and connectivity solutions. Advanced knowledge of Leaf-Spine data center architectures, including modern data center networking, redundancy, high availability, and east-west traffic optimization. Strong routing and switching expertise across Cisco NX-OS and IOS-XE platforms, including design, implementation, and troubleshooting of enterprise and data center networks. Advanced knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VRFs, EVPN/VXLAN, multicast, policy-based routing, and route redistribution in complex network environments.

Primary Duties
  1. Manages all design and deployment activities including planning, installation, integration, configuration, testing, and maintenance of all network architecture components, ensuring service level agreements of the enterprise network infrastructure, including software defined data center fabric, software defined wide area networks, overlay networks, virtual private networks, wireless networks, perimeter firewalls, micro-segmentation firewalls, routers, and switches.
  2. Manages teams responsible for research, deployment, integration, and configuration activities of all networks, network access, and remote access solutions, and enhancements to enterprise network architecture, ensuring compliance with IT operating policies and procedures.
  3. Assists, mentors, and provides technical direction, leadership, guidance and support for Network Engineers and other IT staff.
  4. Manages network architecture research, planning, analysis, and creation of enterprise network-related documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, procedures, and configuration information) identifying IT policies and procedures and service level agreements.
  5. Manages and reviews all planning, design, implementation, maintenance, and testing of enterprise Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan regarding network connectivity, access, and availability.
  6. Analyzes and presents reports based on historical data related to enterprise network connectivity and operations. Recommends enhancements to meet changing and forecasted demands in the network infrastructure.
  7. Assists as technical advisor and provides technical leadership to IT staff regarding reported network infrastructure incidents or outages of network access or connectivity, and responsible for their final resolution.
  8. Manages technical documentation produced and technical libraries that provide IT staff and management the configuration and deployment details of the network architecture and infrastructure for maintaining effective network operations and access, backup/recovery processes, and disaster recovery procedures.
  9. Researches and presents technical information relating to changes and advances in Information Technology-related disciplines, regulations, trends, and processes. Recommends configuration or process changes and implements approved changes.
  10. Maintains a working relationship with outside organizations, partners, and other resources to enhance the IT infrastructure and assure the infrastructure meets service level agreements and changing demands.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Educational/Experience Level Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and four years of experience in computer programming and operating networks analysis.

Communication Skills

Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on technical concepts to individuals.

Numeric Skills

Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages, and simple statistical methods.

Computer Skills

Requires a very high level of computer skills to use various software packages as well as a familiarity with hardware configuration.

  1. Ability to lift 47 pounds from the ground to 5 inches. (Ex: lifting equipment)
  2. Ability to lift 25 pounds from 56 inches to 72 inches. (Ex: lifting servers and equipment)
  3. Ability to lift 25 pounds from the ground to 57 inches. (Ex: lifting batteries and equipment)
  4. Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds. (Ex: lifting and carrying ladder)
  5. Ability to ascend/descend 8 rungs on a ladder.
  6. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and/or crouch.
  7. Ability to generate 35-foot pounds of upward force. (Ex. lifting floor tiles)
Work Conditions

Works in an office environment. Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
