Accountabilities
  • Design enterprise network architectures: Develop scalable, secure, and highly available LAN, WAN, data center, cloud, and hybrid network solutions that meet business and operational requirements.
  • Establish architecture standards: Define network design principles, technical standards, best practices, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps to ensure consistency and long-term scalability.
  • Lead modernization initiatives: Drive large-scale network transformation, infrastructure migration, optimization, and technology refresh projects across enterprise environments.
  • Provide advanced networking expertise: Design and guide implementations involving BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD-WAN, VXLAN/EVPN, VPN, Quality of Service (QoS), firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Architect cloud connectivity: Design and support Azure and other cloud networking environments, including secure hybrid connectivity between cloud platforms and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Guide complex troubleshooting: Provide senior-level technical direction for challenging network and security issues, helping engineering teams identify root causes and implement lasting solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies: Assess networking and security solutions based on scalability, performance, resilience, security, operational requirements, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate across technical teams: Partner with Security, Cloud, Infrastructure, Application, and business stakeholders to align network architecture with enterprise priorities.
  • Manage vendor relationships: Work with network equipment vendors, telecommunications carriers, and technology partners to evaluate solutions, address technical challenges, and support strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain architectural documentation: Produce and maintain network architecture diagrams, design specifications, implementation guidelines, and technical documentation.
  • Mentor engineering teams: Provide architectural guidance, share technical knowledge, and support the professional development of network engineers.
  • Support strategic decision-making: Translate complex technical considerations into practical recommendations that help stakeholders make informed infrastructure investments.
Requirements
  • Professional experience: 12–15+ years of experience in enterprise networking and network security, with a strong background in complex infrastructure environments.
  • Enterprise networking expertise: Extensive experience designing and supporting LAN/WAN, data center, cloud networking, SD-WAN, and hybrid network architectures.
  • Advanced technical knowledge: Deep understanding of routing, switching, network security, enterprise architecture, and high-availability network design.
  • Routing and network technologies: Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD-WAN, VXLAN/EVPN, VPN, QoS, firewalls, and load balancing technologies.
  • Cloud networking experience: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure or another major cloud platform, including hybrid connectivity and cloud network architecture.
  • Architecture and transformation leadership: Proven experience leading large-scale network projects, infrastructure modernization programs, and strategic technology initiatives.
  • Security and resilience: Ability to design network environments that meet enterprise security, availability, performance, and scalability requirements.
  • Technical documentation: Experience creating architecture diagrams, design documents, network standards, and implementation guidelines.
  • Certifications: CCIE, CCNP, or equivalent networking certifications are preferred. Microsoft Azure networking certifications, AWS or Google Cloud networking certifications, and other relevant networking or security credentials are also advantageous.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: Strong ability to evaluate complex technical challenges, compare solutions, and develop effective long-term strategies.
  • Communication and stakeholder management: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain architectural decisions and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Technical leadership: Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, and promote engineering best practices.
