Job summary

Dart Bank is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Processor in Lansing, MI to manage residential mortgage loans across all programs. You will maintain a robust loan pipeline, ensure timely processing, and communicate with borrowers and third parties to secure accurate documentation and underwriting readiness.

The role requires 3–5 years of processing experience, strong communication, and strict adherence to policies, with opportunities to grow through Dart Bank University and comprehensive

Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma; college degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of mortgage loan processing experience.
  • Experience with Encompass required; Blend preferred.
  • Experience with web-based underwriting systems and loan origination systems.
  • Experience with correspondent lenders preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Process residential mortgage loans for all programs offered by Dart Bank.
  • Maintain a pipeline of loans and ensure timely, compliant flow.
  • Contact borrowers within 24 hours of file receipt.
  • Obtain and review documentation and update Encompass prior to underwriting.
  • Monitor closing dates and deadlines.
  • Communicate with buyers, sellers, title companies, builders and agents.
  • Ensure data integrity and timely clearance of underwriting conditions.
  • Adhere to bank policies and federal/state regulations.

Job Duties
  • Be fully engaged and consistently look for improvement measures and solutions to issues that hinder your ability to be successful.
  • Processes residential mortgage loans for all programs offered by Dart Bank in a quality consistent with all company policies and procedures as well as meeting all regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains a pipeline of loans and is responsible for the timely and compliant flow of such loans through the process.
  • Contacts all borrowers within 24 hours of receiving the file to introduce yourself and request outstanding documentation.
  • Obtains and reviews necessary loan documentation and updates Encompass as needed prior to submitting to Underwriting for loan approval.
  • Monitors and ensures closing dates and company deadlines are met.
  • Responsible for following company policies and procedures as directed. Never employ workarounds to procedures or policies.
  • Communicates with buyers, sellers, title companies, builders and agents.
  • Communicate with borrowers and third parties to obtain loan documentation both verbally and via email.
  • Communicate with Mortgage Bankers and their assistants to ensure the processing and underwriting components are completed in time to meet the closing date.
  • Obtains and verifies that all underwriting conditions are received, reviewed, and cleared by the underwriter, and prepares the file for submission to the Closing Department.
  • Identifying and resolving any discrepancies with data entry and or documentation received.
  • Provides excellent customer service by effectively communicating and cooperating with all internal and external customers.
  • Keeps abreast of changes in policies and procedures, standards and regulations applicable to the company and the mortgage industry. Able to manage high volume of activity and maintain production goals
  • Adaptability and Candor: You will be working with some of the newest technology in the mortgage industry. As it evolves, we will ask you for your feedback to improve our products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle delicate situations with diplomacy and tact
  • Actively participate and advocate the bank’s training and development programs and commitment to learning.
  • Effective and timely communication with the Underwriter regarding any changes made to the loan file.
  • Responsible for date integrity, completeness, accuracy, timeframes and effectively manage efolder/conditions.
  • Bring any issues to management/team lead as soon as they arise.
  • Work as a team to ensure best practices, efficiency and continuous brainstorming of ways to improve.
  • Responsible for following company policies and procedures as directed. Never employ workarounds to procedures or policies.
  • Adheres to all Federal and State laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education

  • Experience with web based automated underwriting systems and loan origination systems, including Encompass (required) and Blend (preferred).
  • Experience working with correspondent lenders is preferred.
  • Government lending experience preferred but not required.
