Position
Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician
Duties
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance ("PM"), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
- Perform minor and major repairs on truck equipment (electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutch, differential, etc.).
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck systems and components.
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
- Road test vehicles to confirm proper operation.
- Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and make independent judgments.
- Manage parts inventory and perform periodic reconciliation.
- Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, including safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.
- Listen to customer needs and provide solutions.
- Prioritize concurrent tasks and manage time effectively.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
- Document work using company iOS devices and the proprietary TRAIT application.
- Complete DOT and other required forms accurately and timely.
- Operate independently and manage daily schedule.
- Maintain high productivity within standard repair times.
- Obtain parts from approved vendors.
- Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone for approval and updates.
- Comply with safety, health, environmental, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
- Maintain the service truck and conduct safety checks and daily inspections.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of related experience (or a higher degree/ certification plus fewer years as specified). Minimum 7–10 years preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
- Set of hand tools required.
- OEM training and certifications preferred.
- Must complete all in‑company required training.
- Must pass DOT‑regulated background screening and DOT physical (or hold a valid DOT medical card with >4 months remaining).
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File.

Compensation
Hourly pay range: $32.26–$48.41 per hour. Base rate may vary by location and candidate qualifications. Additional commission or incentive programs may apply.
