Job summary

Coupang, Inc. is hiring a Staff Software Engineer, ML infra Engineer for the Search & Discovery organization in Mountain View, CA. You will design and implement durable, scalable software to train complex ML models on massive data and serve them online.

You will build offline and online ML platforms to support ranking, recommendations, and business decision making, handling billions of records and petabytes of data to drive growth and user experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics or closely related fields.
• 5 years of professional experience in applied machine learning.
• Experience in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java, with experience in building production grade ML systems.

Responsibilities

• Proactively drive the end-to-end data platform and data quality roadmap for Search & Discovery ML efforts.
• Own and optimize the core data logging, processing, and ML model training pipelines.
• Develop and scale data infrastructure powering batch and real-time processing, monitoring and debugging for ML experiments.
• Advance scalable ML-based ranking systems and online ML inference services.
• Build cross-functional partnerships with Data Scientists, Analysts, PMs, and engineers to address offline and online needs.
• Research, choose technical approaches, and mentor other engineers in processes and methodologies.
