Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer 4 to join a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will design and deploy production ML models with scalability in mind, collaborate with Product and Data Science teams, and ensure models are reliable and governed by responsible AI practices.

You will work with Python, Java, Scala, or other modern languages, leverage PyTorch/TensorFlow, and manage ML pipelines on distributed systems in the cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) with Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS or related quantitative field.
• At least 4 years of experience programming with Python, Java, Golang, or C++.
• At least 4 years of ML experience using industry standard frameworks PyTorch or TensorFlow and libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
• At least 4 years of experience using and operating large scale distributed systems (Spark, Ray).
• At least 2 years of experience deploying and operating ML solutions in production on cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) and using Kubernetes to manage large scale containerized ML software systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and/or deliver ML models and components that solve real-world business problems in collaboration with Product and Data Science teams.
• Inform ML infrastructure decisions with understanding of modeling techniques, data, and feature selection.
• Write and test application code, develop and validate ML models, and automate tests and deployment.
• Collaborate in a cross-functional Agile team to create software enabling state-of-the-art big data and ML applications.
• Retrain, maintain, and monitor models in production.
• Leverage cloud architectures to deliver optimized ML models at scale and construct data pipelines for training and evaluation.
