Job summary

LifeBridge Health's Carroll Hospital in Westminster, MD is hiring a Medical Physicist to ensure accuracy and reproducibility of prescribed radiation treatments through equipment acceptance testing and dosimetry calculations. The role supports radiation safety, assists in directing the medical physics and dosimetry team, and provides vital coverage in the radiation safety officer's absence.

Required experience is 5–7 years with a Master’s degree in physical sciences/radiologic physics; PhD

Qualifications

• Master degree in physical sciences and radiologic physics required.
• Ph.D. preferred.
• Therapeutic Medical Physics certification or eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment compliance and acceptance testing for radiotherapy equipment.
• Calculate pretreatment radiation dosimetry.
• Assist in radiation safety practices and provide hospital radiation safety services in the radiation safety officer's absence.
• Assist chief medical physicist in directing workload of the medical physics and dosimetry team.

Summary:

Under minimal supervision, ensures the accuracy, precision and reproducibility of medically prescribed radiation treatments to patients by performing equipment compliance and acceptance testing, and calculating pretreatment radiation dosimetry. Assists in the management of radiation safety practices in the radiation oncology department, and provides hospital radiation safety services in the radiation safety officer's absence. Assists the chief medical physicist in directing the workload of the medical physics and dosimetry team.

Pay Range: $89.51 to $143.22 Based On Experience
