Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA is seeking an experienced Sr. Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the Chemistry section on first shift.

The role includes performing tests, interpreting results, and ensuring accurate operations in a busy clinical laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in medical technology or related field, ASCP/AMT/AAB certification, and at least 3 years of laboratory experience, with Chemistry experience preferred.

Overview

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is hiring an experienced Sr. Medical Laboratory Scientist to work full days in the Chemistry section of the clinical lab.

As a Sr. Laboratory Scientist, duties are to perform laboratory testing and interpret test results using scientific knowledge and principles of test procedures and disease processes; recommends contingency testing. Directly responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing daily technical operations, including staff training and education, implementation of instrumentation, and accreditation readiness.

Education

Bachelor's in medical technology or Biology/Chemical Science

Certification/Licensure

ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification

Experience

3 years of laboratory tech experience (required)

Chemistry experience (preferred)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $42.50 - $61.83 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
