We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers focused on the design, development, and continuous improvement of complex mechanical equipment and systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale engineered products and systems that may include rotating equipment, thermal systems, and integrated mechanical assemblies.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge in mechanical design and product development, preferably with experience in rotating equipment (such as pumps, turbines, compressors, motors, or valves) or in complex mechanical system integration (plant systems, skid packages, or industrial assemblies). This leader will guide cross-functional collaboration between engineering, manufacturing, quality, and product management teams to ensure high-performance solutions from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of mechanical engineers and designers
  • Oversee the design and development of complex mechanical components, rotating equipment, and integrated mechanical systems
  • Drive technical excellence and standardization across engineering processes, tools, and documentation
  • Review and approve engineering calculations, drawings, BOMs, and product specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with customer requirements, manufacturing capabilities, and business goals
  • Support project management efforts by assigning resources, managing timelines, and reporting on progress
  • Provide guidance on materials, tolerancing, and manufacturability for robust product designs
  • Engage in root cause analysis, continuous improvement initiatives, and field issue resolution
  • Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to mechanical design and system engineering
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and performance management of engineering staff

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s or PE preferred)
  • 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including 3–5 years in a technical leadership or management role
  • Proven experience in designing rotating equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, valves) OR complex mechanical systems or assemblies that integrate such components
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, CAD tools (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar), and design-for-manufacturing principles
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in capital equipment, industrial systems, or engineered-to-order product environments
  • Familiarity with ASME standards, API codes, or other applicable engineering standards
  • Exposure to finite element analysis (FEA), CFD, or reliability engineering tools
  • Experience collaborating with global teams or managing design resources in a matrixed environment
