What You Will Do
- Work autonomously with periodic oversight, advanced knowledge of control mechanism development, and coach lower‑level professionals.
- Engage in hands‑on hardware work, including engineering builds, hardware integration, tuning, and verification.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typical requirement: a STEM degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of related experience.
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience or 3 years of related experience with an advanced degree.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with systems or mechanical engineering of servo controls.
- Experience developing CAS requirements, architecture, risk, verification and validation, system performance and function, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Experience with control actuation systems using permanent‑magnet or brush‑less DC motor technology.
- Experience with feedback control systems, including sizing, testing and integration, design‑for‑manufacturing, kinematic and dynamic simulation and analysis.
- Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5.
- Proven ability to deconstruct higher‑level tasks into discrete lower‑level work packages.
- Proficiency in generating free‑body diagrams.
- Proficiency in engineering processes and procedures.
- Moderate 3D modeling skills with a commercial software package.
- Experience with Pro/Engineer/CREO 3‑D modeling and mechanical drawing generation.
- Experience using MATLAB, Simulink, and dSPACE.
- Proven design and manufacturing knowledge in machined parts, injection molded parts, hobbing, broaching, sheet‑metal fabrication, BLDC motors, wire harnesses/flex harnesses, corrosion‑resistant steels, and aluminum alloys.
