Job summary

Fresh Consulting in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead exploration, prototyping, and implementation of new technologies into functional prototypes and validated concepts. You will collaborate with a diverse XFN team including EE, FW/SW, Audio and Optical engineers to advance consumer electronics programs.

The role requires a 5+ year track record in mechanical design for high‑volume products, expert NX/Teamcenter skills, and strong CAD/DFM/DFA and GD&T knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in mechanical design shipping high‑volume commercial products or complex electromechanical assemblies.
• NX/Teamcenter as primary CAD software.
• 3D/2D CAD, DFM/DFA, GD&T, material properties, and high-volume manufacturing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead exploration, prototyping, maturation and implementation of new technologies into functional prototypes and validated tech maturity.
• Collaborate with EE, FW/SW, Audio, Optical engineers in cross‑functional teams.
• Design components and systems for consumer electronics.
• Develop electromechanical and optomechanical systems for testing and validation.
• Create and implement test methods for design validation.
• Contribute to technical specifications and product definitions.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines to advance R&D projects.

Job Description

Lead exploration, prototyping, maturing and implementation of new technologies into functional medium volume prototypes to validate technical and product level functionality, use cases and tech maturity. Work alongside a diverse and expert XFN team consisting of EE, FW/SW, Audio, Optical engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead technology development projects through creation of functional prototypes, development of test methods
• Support RnD projects (NTI and NPI) through the design of systems and test vehicles for new technology introduction studies and technology development.
• Design product components and systems for consumer electronics
• Design electromechanical and optomechanical systems for device testing and validation
• Develop and implement test methods for design validation
• Contribute to creation of technical specifications and product definition.
• Work closely with XFN team consisting of EE, FW/SW/, Audio, Optical, REL, MfgEng

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and/or equivalent industry experience
• 5+ years of industry experience in mechanical design, with demonstrated track record of shipping high‑volume commercial products and/or designing complex electromechanical assemblies in a research/prototype environment
• Demonstrated experience leading the design of complex assemblies and systems from concept to production
• Expertise using NX/Teamcenter as a primary CAD software
• Expertise in 3D/2D CAD, DFM/DFA, GD&T, material properties, and high-volume manufacturing techniques

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Range $75/hr – $85/hr.
