Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking a senior Mechanical Designer with 10+ years of experience in mechanical and specialized tooling/handling equipment design for military applications. Proficiency in Siemens NX and GD&T is required, with strong collaboration across engineering teams.

The role focuses on creating high quality NX CAD files, detailed drawings, and data packages for manufacture and assembly within a defense-grade environment. A Secret clearance is a consideration for employment.

Qualifications

• High school, trade school or higher with experience using UG NX CAD Tool.
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to mentor/train junior level personnel.
• Familiarity with machine shop practices related to manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Generate high quality 2D and 3D CAD files in NX.
• Prepare and update detail design drawings, assembly drawings, and parts lists for military applications.
• Apply ANSI Y14.5 GD&T and military standards in data packages.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to research, analyze and implement DFMA design solutions.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis calculations.

++Job Summary:++
Textron has need for a full-time Mechanical Engineering Specialist with a minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical and specialized tooling/handling equipment design. The candidate should be comfortable as a cognizant designer of mechanical systems for military applications. The candidate should be familiar with manufacturing environments and understand the tooling and equipment needed to aid fabrication and assembly. The candidate should also be well versed in Siemens NX CAD design software and understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

++Job Description:++

• Generate high quality 2D and 3D CAD files in NX
• Prepare and update detail design drawings, assembly drawings, Indented Parts Lists primarily for military applications.
• Applies the following in the creation of technical data packages: ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing, military standards and specifications, manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to research, analyze and implement design solutions with attention to design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA).
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis calculations.

Qualifications

• High school, trade school or higher, previous training or experience using UG NX CAD Tool
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

• Familiarity with military hardware and fasteners is preferred.
