Job summary

Textron Systems in Utah is seeking a Sr Mechanical Designer to lead precision mechanical systems design for military applications. You will generate 2D and 3D NX CAD files, prepare detailed drawings, and create data packs with GD&T per ANSI Y14.5 and mil-specs.

Work with engineering on DFMA and perform tolerance stack-up analyses. The role requires 10+ years of experience, strong GD&T, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Siemens NX (version 10.0+).
• High school, trade school or higher with UG NX CAD exposure.
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
• Ability to mentor/train junior personnel.
• Familiarity with manufacturability and machine shop practices.
• Familiarity with military hardware and fasteners.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:
Textron has need for a full-time Mechanical Engineering Specialist with a minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical and specialized tooling/handling equipment design. The candidate should be comfortable as a cognizant designer of mechanical systems for military applications. The candidate should be familiar with manufacturing environments and understand the tooling and equipment needed to aid fabrication and assembly. The candidate should also be well versed in Siemens NX CAD design software and understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Job Description:

• Generate high quality 2D and 3D CAD files in NX
• Prepare and update detail design drawings, assembly drawings, Indented Parts Lists primarily for military applications.
• Applies the following in the creation of technical data packages: ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing, military standards and specifications, manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to research, analyze and implement design solutions with attention to design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA).
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis calculations.
