Position Overview

Our client, a semiconductor manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead by hands-on example and collaborate with a team of engineers in designing advanced thin-film chemical vapor deposition and related systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with SolidWorks and Microsoft Office. Proficiency in thermal and fluid (gas) dynamics modeling, FEA, and program management is highly desirable and considered a strong plus. This role involves design, prototyping, documentation, bill of materials creation, budget management, quoting, vendor and customer engagement and support, as well as occasional domestic and international travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and improve products and systems
• Utilize engineering tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and other design software for computer-aided design and technical tasks
• Prepare detailed project cost estimates, delivery schedules, and related documentation
• Develop and enforce construction, manufacturing, and installation standards
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including operational manuals, P&IDs;, and PFDs
• Write reports, deliver presentations, and conduct meetings with clients and management
• Oversee maintenance programs, inspections, and system upgrades
• Ensure quality assurance and adherence to project specifications
• Interact with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure project success
• Provide hands-on support for the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of designs
• Collaborate on control systems design, including PLCs and industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP/IP, EtherCAT)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in semiconductor, vacuum, or complex equipment manufacturing 2 Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, microprocessors, and microcontrollers, with familiarity in PLCs and control systems (Modbus TCP/IP, EtherCAT) a significant plus
• Demonstrated expertise in project management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
