A Materials Manager at Bayer’s O’Hara site plays a critical role in ensuring materials are available to support manufacturing operations safely, efficiently, and on time. This role is responsible for overseeing material planning, material purchasing, inventory management, supplier coordination, and daily issue resolution to minimize supply disruptions and support production schedules. Working cross-functionally with procurement, production planning, warehouse, quality, and manufacturing teams, the Materials Manager helps balance customer service, inventory health, and operational continuity. A typical day includes reviewing material availability, monitoring shortages and aging inventory, expediting critical components, aligning priorities across functions, and driving actions to address supply risks. This role also supports continuous improvement efforts, strengthens planning discipline, and helps ensure the site can meet business and customer needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $84,000 to $126,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.
