Job summary

Sanofi in Framingham, MA is seeking a Sr Manufacturing Technician for a 12-hour rotating shift in a large-scale cGMP facility. You will perform complex tasks under general guidance and adhere to manufacturing instructions and GMPs.

This role offers the opportunity to work with QA/QC, Manufacturing Engineering, and MSIT teams, using DeltaV and other automation systems, with emphasis on process improvements and mentoring junior operators.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or biotech-related education with relevant manufacturing experience.
• Biotech Certificate or Associate's degree with internship or lab work included.
• Bachelor's degree in Biotech or related field will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe working environment and reports incidents to Manufacturing management.
• Demonstrates understanding of GMPs and how they apply to responsibilities.
• Follows procedures and completes production documentation accurately.
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness in the process area.
• Ensures production area is stocked with supplies.
• Revises SOPs and generates work orders.
• Interacts with QA, QC, Manufacturing Engineering, MSIT, Validation, etc.
• Uses manufacturing knowledge to improve process operations and drive positive change.
• Troubleshoots basic mechanical operations.
• Utilizes Microsoft Office applications.
• Mentors less experienced operators.
• Performs in-process analytical testing.
• Demonstrates knowledge of automation systems (INFOR, MES, ERP, DeltaV).
• Practice aseptic techniques.

Main Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe working environment and reporting of incidents/accidents to Manufacturing management.

• Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical operations.


• Effectively utilizes Microsoft Office applications.


• Mentors less experienced operators.


• Performs in process analytical testing.


• Demonstrates general knowledge of automation systems (INFOR, MES, ERP, DeltaV).


• Demonstrates general knowledge and practice of aseptic techniques.

Continuous Improvement

• Contributes to continual improvement of all manufacturing documentation (SOPs, EWIs, MBRs, OJTs) to ensure they are current, accurate, and clear.


• Supports plant floor continuous improvement initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED with 1+ years of experience in a cGxP manufacturing environment, OR


• Biotech Certificate or Associate's degree in a related field with 6 months of experience (including internships, co-ops, or laboratory work)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biotech or related fields with 6 months of educational experience will be considered.


• Effectively uses process automation systems to operate production processes (i.e. DeltaV).

The Fine Print

• For influenza production roles (excluding FFIP roles): candidate must be able to be receive influenza vaccine which is required for building access


• For aseptic area production roles (excluding Flu production tech roles): candidate must be able to obtain and maintain current aseptic gowning qualification


• This position may be required to be moved or temporarily flexed to another department or building within the FFIP operation due to business needs. Additionally, candidates should expect to work in multiple buildings. Some over-time/off shift work hours may be required based on business needs. We will attempt to provide as much advance notice as possible, two weeks where applicable if any such change is needed.


• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs., and bend/lift/move objects as part of the job.

Able to stand for up to 8 hours a day (with occasional breaks)
