Novartis Group of Companies in Morris Plains, New Jersey, seeks a Sr Manufacturing Technical MES Specialist to advance digital manufacturing by designing, implementing, and optimizing MES, Master Batch Records, and paperless workflows.

You will work with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and technical teams to ensure compliant operations, provide production support, manage changes, and train users in batch record design and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher; relevant work experience considered in lieu of degree.
• 2–5 years MES experience, including Master Batch Record design.
• 5 years in a regulated current Good Manufacturing Practice environment, preferred.
• Expertise in MES Master Batch Record design, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of MES interfaces including ERP and LIMS integrations.
• Strong requirements gathering, project management, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end MES processes supporting commercial, clinical, and future programs.
• Design, configure, test, and improve electronic Master Batch Records and workflows.
• Provide MES production support and resolve system issues to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, development, and validation teams to optimize processes.
• Manage MES updates, change controls, corrective actions, and documentation revisions for compliance.
• Support system integrations and master data management across enterprise platforms including lab and ERP systems.
• Coach and train key users and SMEs on batch record design, execution, and best practices.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end Manufacturing Execution System processes supporting commercial, clinical, and future manufacturing programs.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Minimum 2 to 5 years of Manufacturing Execution System experience, including Master Batch Record design and creation.
• 5 years of experience in a regulated current Good Manufacturing Practice environment, preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in technical Manufacturing Execution System Master Batch Record design, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution System interfaces and integrations, including enterprise resource planning and laboratory information management systems.
• Strong business requirements gathering, project management, communication, and documentation skills with exceptional attention to detail.

The salary for this position is expected to range between $98,700 and $183,300 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors. Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards. US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.
