Job summary

Patch Rubber Company is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to drive operational excellence across rubber manufacturing operations. The role focuses on developing work standards, time studies, validating processes, creating operator instructions, improving equipment performance, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing engineering within rubber, tire, or polymer processes, with Lean/Six Sigma exposure and CAD/ERP proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or 15+ years of progressive rubber manufacturing experience.
  • Experience developing standard work, work instructions, labor standards, and time studies.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives in rubber manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality system.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems; Acumatica preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes across rubber mixing, extrusion, calendering, curing, adhesive, and converting operations.
  • Develop standardized work instructions and operating procedures.
  • Conduct time studies and establish/update labor standards and staffing models.
  • Assist with Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, SMED, value stream mapping, and waste elimination.
  • Support equipment troubleshooting involving mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and PLC-controlled systems.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
  • Support process validation, root cause analysis, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, and Supply Chain teams.
