Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer in Hawaii to design and implement production processes that meet quality, delivery and productivity targets. You will apply Eaton Business System tools to drive efficiency on the shop floor and mentor operations teams.

Responsibilities include leading process improvements, monitoring metrics (yield, scrap, capacity), supporting new lines, updating PFMEA/Control Plans, and ensuring EQMS-based quality standards for certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering.
• Full bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in similar positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide resources and continuous improvements to manufacturing processes.
• Correct and prevent process and productivity problems.
• Monitor metrics and capacity (yield, scrap, productivity).
• Develop and implement EBS tools to control flow.
• Determine manload and required equipment.
• Design manufacturing systems processes and layouts.
• Develop programs to reduce costs and boost efficiency.
• Analyze customer complaints and plan corrective actions.
• Monitor EQMS-based quality standards for certification.
• Evaluate process capacity via capability studies.
• Design instructions and new processes to support procedures.
• Participate in departmental teams.
• Support new production lines/products; complete PROLaunch docs.
• Develop capital project appropriations and execute to improve process.
• Update PFMEA and Control Plans for unusual conditions.
• Maintain VSM, Standard Work and Error Proofing updates.
• Follow Change Orders and change control per EQMS.
• Lead continuous improvement events (VSM, 3P, LMF, TPM, etc.).

What you’ll do:

Job Summary:

Design and implement processes in manufacturing lines that can achieve the levels of required quality, delivery and productivity. Provide support to improve efficiency in manufacturing by using the Eaton Business System Tools.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Provide resources and continuous improvements to manufacturing processes.
2. Correct and prevent manufacturing problems related to the process and productivity.
3. Follow up, improve and monitor metrics & capacity, such as Yield, Scrap & Productivity.
4. Monitor and control flow of production processes through the development and implementation of the EBS tools.
5. Determine the manload for the product lines and provide the process, equipment, machine, fixtures and tools required on demand.
6. Design the manufacturing systems process & layout.
7. Develop and implement programs to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
8. Analyze customer complaints and develop corrective action plan.
9. Monitor and implement quality standards based on EQMS to ensure the certification of standard.
10. Analize and evaluate capacity of the process through capability studies.
11. Design manufacturing instruction and develop new process in order to provide work procedure and support the goals achievement.
12. Perform an active participation in the Departmental Teams.
13. Support the introduction of new production lines/products. Complete all required documents based on PROLaunch requirements.
14. Develop capital projects appropriations & execute accordingly to improve the process.
15. Update PFMEA tools and Control Plans with unusual conditions of the production process.
16. Maintain update of VSM, Standard Work and Error Proofing tools.
17. Follow up the Implementation of CO (Change Orders) applicable to their areas & Change Control based on EQMS guidelines.
18. Lead continuous improvements events (VSM, 3P, LMF, TPM, SUR, SW, 5S, Problem Solving)

Responsibilities related to Health, Safety and Environment (EHS):

1. Execute 100% of monthly safety inspection & close actions.
2. Assist to all EHS training assigned.
3. Develop & evaluate the JSA for each manufacturing process.

Qualifications:

Education level required:

1. Bachelor degree of Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronic or Electrical Engineer

2. Full Bilingual (English / Spanish)

Years and area of experience required:

• Minimum experience of 3 years in similar positions.

Technical knowledge:

1.PC knowledge: Auto Cad and Microsoft Office. Solidworks as a plus.
2.Interpretation of design knowledge.
3.Knowledge SPC (Statistical Process Control), Lean Manufacturing, Greenbelt, Internal/Lead Auditor ISO9000.
4.Knowledge of project management and problem-solving techniques.
