Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is hiring a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to be onsite in East Longmeadow, MA. The role focuses on developing and implementing new manufacturing processes and equipment, improving existing ones, and driving safety and productivity improvements.

Responsibilities include process capability studies, lean initiatives, root-cause analysis, and capital budgeting for manufacturing proposals; ensuring EH&S compliance and cross-functional collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience with process equipment, steel machining and welding.
  • Hands-on equipment troubleshooting and process improvements.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and CAD.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Review and improve existing processes and equipment.
  • Ensure equipment/processes operate at satisfactory levels.
  • Perform process capability studies.
  • Identify safety and productivity improvements.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Document work standards and instructions.
  • Investigate production concerns and perform root cause analysis.
  • Identify new equipment, oversee procurement, layouts, installations and validations.
  • Initiate capital budget requests and justify manufacturing proposals.
  • Contribute to preventative maintenance programs.
  • Ensure compliance with EH&S policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to drive tasks to completion.

The Job:
  • Develop and implement new manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Review and improve existing manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Ensure that equipment, processes, and tooling, operate at satisfactory levels.
  • Perform process capability studies.
  • Identify and implement safety and productivity improvements.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives that support continuous process improvements.
  • Document work standards and instructions.
  • Investigate production concerns. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify new equipment, processes, and tooling. Oversee procurement, plant layout, installations, and validations.
  • Initiate capital budget requests. Plan, justify, and implement manufacturing proposals.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all EH&S policies as defined by Stanley Black & Decker, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Work cohesively within our team environment, participating in various projects and events to support the Plant's needs.
  • Engage with personnel from other departments and disciplines to successfully drive and complete tasks.

  • 5+ years relevant engineering experience
  • Related experience with process equipment, steel machining and welding
  • Skilled in hands on equipment troubleshooting and process improvements
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office software and CAD

The Salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $144,900.00

This is the lowest to highest annual full-time salary range we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
