Job summary

At MKS Inc. in Colorado, a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will partner with Product Engineers, Quality, Planning, and Production Leaders to improve and sustain production processes in the MKS Broomfield operations.

The role reports to the Sr. Supervisor of Manufacturing Engineering and drives cost-effective, compliant manufacturing solutions. The position emphasizes Lean principles, process improvement, and collaboration with design and program management teams, with a focus on data-driven decision

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years of related experience.
  • Lean manufacturing principles and Promote Safety and Lean Continuous Improvement.
  • Proficiency with analytical tools, workflow time studies, and process balancing.
  • Ability to collaborate with Design engineers, program managers, manufacturing leads, and functional leads.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, listening, and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and Tool/Fixture Design.
  • Experience with Oracle and Agile.
  • Understanding of Product Engineering, Product Design Reviews and ECR/ECO systems, BOM structure and Engineering Documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing systems and processes and identify value-added and non-value-added activities to solve design challenges.
  • Conceive, design, develop, and test innovative solutions based on analysis and organizational objectives.
  • Contribute to resolving quality and efficiency issues at the component level.
  • Implementation and Control of Manufacturing Documents (Work Instructions, Tool Drawings, Process Drawings, etc.).
  • Estimate manufacturing cost, review/update time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
  • Evaluate new and existing processes, equipment, and materials as an input for scheduling methods, performance metrics, and financial standards.
  • Uphold the company’s reputation by delivering innovative solutions while adhering to local and national regulations.
  • Manage and conduct employee training for productivity improvement projects.

Job description

A Day in The Life at MKS

As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer at MKS Vacuum Solutions Division, you will partner with Product Engineers, Quality, Planning, and Production Leaders and work closely with a diverse group of production machinists, welders, and assembly operators to improve and sustain production processes and help support the manufacturing strategy for the MKS Broomfield operations. In this role, you will report to the Sr. Supervisor of Manufacturing Engineering.

You Will Make an Impact

Analyze existing systems and processes and identify value-added and non-value-added activities to solve design challenges. Conceive, design, develop, and test innovative solutions based on analysis and organizational objectives. Contribute to resolving quality and efficiency issues at the component level. Skills You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years of related experience.
  • In-depth understanding of lean manufacturing principles and Promote Safety and Lean Continuous Improvement.
  • Proficiency with analytical tools, workflow time studies, and process balancing.
  • Ability to collaborate with Design engineers, program managers, manufacturing leads, and functional leads.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Tubular Components and CNC Machining preferred.
  • CNC programming a plus.
  • Familiar with TIG welding and Orbital welding.
  • Interest in robotics for manufacturing.
  • Understand principles of DFM and DFA.
  • Experience with 3D printing.
  • Experience with Mechanical Assembly.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions

May require manual dexterity and coordination of objects in normal range. Occasionally may move or position objects up to 40 lbs. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information. Operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment. Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards, including handling mechanical hardware. Noise level in the work environment is usually average.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Pay Range

Salary Pay Range: $80,000 to $110,000 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.

Bonus

This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
