Job description

The Sr. Manager, Supply Chain is a high-impact, site-based leadership role responsible for end-to-end management of material flow—from demand signaling through production support and final customer delivery. In a lean, fast-moving organization, you operate as a hands-on problem solver, building the systems and team behaviors that keep the business in control. You will manage a product portfolio with an increasing SKU mix, ensuring urgency, accountability, and disciplined execution are embedded into every layer of planning, purchasing, and logistics. This position requires travel to Oakland and Mahwah facilities when needed. As a member of the Operations Leadership Team, you are expected to “See It, Own It, Solve It, and Do It”—surfacing risk early, clearing roadblocks, and driving a culture where issues are resolved at the right level.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Planning Leadership (IBP, Inventory, Service) – Execute the Monthly IBP (Integrated Business Planning) process. This process will balance demand, capacity, and inventory investment.
  2. Manage performance for the planning team to achieve service, inventory, and schedule adherence targets.
  3. Maintain inventory policies (safety stock, reorder points, MOQ strategy) to protect customer service while minimizing working capital.
  4. Create an “urgent and accountable” operating rhythm—clear escalation paths, same-day issue resolution, and no surprises.
  5. Lead the purchasing function and supplier ecosystem—ensuring materials and services are available, compliant, and delivered on time.
  6. Manage performance for buyers to deliver on service, quality, and cost objectives (PPV, lead time, supplier OTD).
  7. Logistics & Distribution Oversight – Ensure warehousing and shipping operate as a center of excellence for safety, accuracy, and velocity. Own performance across inbound and outbound logistics (dock-to-stock, order-to-ship), inventory integrity, and on-time customer delivery.
  8. Drive continuous improvement in space utilization, labor productivity, freight spend, and carrier performance; lead corrective actions when metrics drift.
  9. Operational Leadership & Alignment – Represent Supply Chain within the Operations Leadership Team; resolve cross-functional disagreements constructively while maintaining a cohesive message to site employees.
  10. Act as a roadblock clearer for direct reports, setting clear priorities and enabling high autonomy with strong follow-through.
  11. Translate organizational strategy into functional goals for Planning, Purchasing, and Logistics & Distribution. Ensure teams execute disciplined standard work.
Key Deliverables & KPIs

The success of this role is measured by the balance of cost, quality, and speed:

  • Inventory Health: Days on Hand (DOH) and Line-Item Fill Rate (LIFR).
  • Operational Efficiency: Order-to-Ship Cycle Time and Warehouse Labor Productivity.
  • Financial Impact: Purchase Price Variance (PPV) and Freight as a % of Sales.
  • Accuracy: Inventory Cycle Count Accuracy.
  • Budget & Financial Responsibility.
  • Functional OPEX Ownership: Direct budget responsibility for Planning, Purchasing, and Logistics & Distribution (including warehousing and freight) with clear annual targets and monthly spend governance.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA/advanced degree a plus).
  • 8+ years of progressive supply chain experience, including leadership responsibility across Planning, Purchasing, and Logistics/Distribution in a manufacturing environment (regulated industry experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead IBP (Integrated Business Planning), convert forecasts into executable plans, and drive schedule adherence, service, and inventory performance.
  • Proven supplier management and negotiation capability, including cost/PPV focus, lead time reduction, and risk mitigation (dual sourcing, constraint management, and recovery plans).
  • Operational command of warehousing and distribution fundamentals (inventory accuracy, shipping performance, freight management, carrier oversight, and safe/efficient material handling).
  • Experience owning and managing functional budgets; able to translate targets into team goals and daily management routines.
  • Strong analytical toolkit (advanced Excel), comfort working in ERP systems; WMS and reporting/BI experience a plus.
  • Track record of continuous improvement (Lean/Kaizen/Six Sigma mindset) with measurable outcomes in cost, service, and process stability.
  • Clear, direct communicator who can align stakeholders, escalates early, and drive fast decisions with accountability.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Experience: 10+ years in supply chain or operations, with significant experience in medium-sized, high-growth environments (Medical Device or regulated industry experience preferred).
  • Mindset: A "player-coach" who thrives in a flat organization. Can work with a planner on a detailed spreadsheet but can also present to the ELT a new strategic direction.
  • Leadership Style: Committed to high-accountability frameworks. You value transparency and expect your team to own their results entirely.
  • Technical Savvy: Experience with ERP systems and data‑driven decision‑making; able to translate complex data sets into actionable "quick wins."
Benefits
  • Company performance bonus eligibility
  • 401(k) plan with company contribution
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Medical, prescription, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company‑paid life and AD&D insurance
  • Wellness Program and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Tuition Reimbursement

Salary Range: $135,000 – $155,000 per year
