Job summary

The Wonderful Company, a leader in health-focused brands, is seeking a Sr. Manager, Research & Insights to drive consumer research strategies in a hybrid West LA setting.

You will lead quantitative and qualitative studies, develop brand trackers, and synthesize insights from Circana/Nielsen data to inform business decisions. You will also manage vendors, craft concise reports, and present findings to senior executives, partnering with brands, shared services, and philanthropy.

Qualifications

  • 8–12 years of experience in consumer/market research or consulting role.
  • Expertise with a wide range of primary research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative).
  • Experience managing brand trackers and integrating primary/secondary data.
  • Strong PowerPoint, data visualization, and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own, lead, and drive research initiatives from scope to deliverable.
  • Be hands-on in quantitative and qualitative research processes (survey design, screener development).
  • Provide support on research work plans and methodologies to achieve business objectives.
  • Lead Brand Health Trackers using primary and secondary data sources.
  • Analyze and report business performance, including sales/panel data (Circana/Nielsen).
  • Develop concise, actionable reports highlighting critical insights for decisions.
  • Create secondary research reports by summarizing available data to deepen market knowledge.
  • Manage research vendors, establish timelines, ensure high-quality results.
  • Lead presentations and brainstorms with senior leaders across the organization.
  • Develop internal client relations and act as thought partner for brands and services.

The Sr. Manager, Research & Insights leverages data and insights to inform strategic decisions for The Wonderful Company. They are an expert in qualitative and quantitative research methods and can identify the right approach to accomplish business objectives. They also feel comfortable manipulating large, raw data sets and analyzing business performance. They are an individual contributor with a strong business acumen who demonstrates a close eye for detail without sacrificing the broader strategic picture.

They are part of the Wonderful Insights team that functions like an in-house research agency but with the benefit of having a deep understanding and connection to the businesses they support so their implications have the greatest impact. The team leverages both primary and secondary data to ensure the voice of the consumer is represented.

This position will be based at our West Los Angeles, CA office. We work a hybrid schedule with an in-office requirement Monday-Wednesday and the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.

Job Description
  • Own, lead, and drive individual research initiatives (qualitative and quantitative) from project scope through deliverable.
  • Must be comfortable playing a hands-on role in the quantitative (e.g., survey design and writing, creating banner and tab plans) and qualitative (e.g., screener development, recruiting) research processes.
  • Provide support on research work plans, outlining the methodology to accomplish the business objective.
  • Lead Brand Health Trackers that integrate primary and secondary data sources.
  • Analyze and report business performance, including sales and panel data from sources such as Circana or Nielsen.
  • Develop concise and actionable reports highlighting only the critical information needed to guide strategic decisions.
  • Develop secondary research reports by summarizing readily available data sources to deepen clients’ market knowledge (e.g., innovation category deep-dives, competitive brand and product analyses).
  • Manage projects with research vendors, responsible for establishing timelines and communications to ensure high quality research results are delivered to the team.
  • Lead effective presentations and brainstorms with senior level audiences across the organization.
  • Proactively develop internal client relations, acting as a thought partner for all internal clients (brands, shared services, philanthropy).
Qualifications
  • 8-12 years of experience in consumer / market research or consulting role, ideally with vendor-side experience.
  • Prior experience working with point of sale data a plus (e.g., IRI, Nielsen).
  • Experience with a wide range of primary research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative), including managing brand trackers
  • Experience with International research is a plus
  • Must be willing to be hands-on in the data and comfortable manipulating large data sets from a range of sources (e.g., finance, Circana/Nielsen, primary research)
  • Readiness to move at a high pace and enjoys having many projects going at once, with the expertise to change course and field research on short timeframes.
  • Detail-oriented without sacrificing a broad strategic perspective.
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills; comfort with quantitative data analysis
  • Comfortable managing field for quantitative research
  • Expert PowerPoint, data visualization, and Excel skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills able to put together and present both thoughtful and interactive presentations
  • Focused, organized, results-oriented individual
  • Ability to work autonomously and maintain a strong, conscientious work ethic

Pay Range: $130,000 - $150,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
