Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a senior product leader to define the strategy and roadmap for optical/photonics product lines. You will guide cross-functional teams across R&D, engineering, operations, and sales to ensure on-time delivery within budget.

Ideal candidates have 8–10+ years in optical/photonics product management, deep knowledge of optical modules and fiber optics, and experience with hyperscale or AI markets. Strong leadership and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Optical/Electrical/Photonics or related field.
• 8–10+ years in optical/photonics product management or development.
• Strong understanding of optical modules, fiber optics, signal integrity, data center applications.
• Experience with hyperscale, AI, or HPC markets preferred.
• Proven leadership and cross-functional project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Mandarin a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute product strategy and roadmap for optical/photonics product lines.
• Lead cross-functional teams including R&D, engineering, ops, and sales to deliver products on schedule and within budget.
• Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and customer requirement gathering.
• Translate customer and system requirements into detailed product specifications.
• Manage product lifecycle from concept through end-of-life.
• Drive business case development, pricing strategy, and margin optimization.
• Work with key sales and partners on technical alignment and qualifications.
• Support customer escalations and resolve technical or commercial issues.
• Mentor and develop product management team members.

• 8–10+ years of experience in optical, photonics, or high-speed interconnect productmanagement or development.
• Strong understanding of optical modules, fiber optics, signal integrity, and datacenter applications.
• Experience with hyperscale, AI, or high-performance computing markets preferred.
• Proven leadership and cross-functional project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Mandarin proficiency is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with optical transceivers (e.g., 400G/800G/1.6T).
• Familiarity with industry standards (IEEE, OIF, MSA).
• Experience working with global suppliers and manufacturing partners.

Salary Range

$160,000 - $220,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
