Job description

Legend Biotech is a global biotechnology company dedicated to treating and, one day, curing life‑threatening diseases. Headquartered in Bridgewater, New Jersey, we are advancing the next generation of cell therapy through a portfolio of innovative technologies, including autologous, allogeneic, and in vivo cell therapy approaches. Our research spans chimeric antigen receptor T‑cell (CAR‑T), T‑cell receptor (TCR‑T), natural killer (NK) cell‑based therapies, and other emerging platforms designed to transform the treatment of serious diseases. From our global network of research and development sites, we are committed to discovering and developing safe, effective, and cutting‑edge therapies for patients worldwide.

Legend Biotech entered into a global collaboration agreement with Johnson & Johnson to jointly develop and commercialize CARVYKTI® (ciltacabtagene autoleucel; cilta‑cel). Through this strategic partnership, we combine complementary expertise and capabilities to advance innovative immunotherapies for patients living with multiple myeloma.

Legend Biotech is seeking a Sr. Manager Network Finance & Strategy as part of the Finance team based in Bridgewater, NJ.

Role Overview

The Senior Manager, Network Finance & Strategy is a strategic finance leader responsible for financial planning, performance management, and decision support across Legend Biotech’s global manufacturing and supply network. The role provides an integrated financial perspective across manufacturing sites, external manufacturing partners, supply‑chain functions, and portfolio programs.

Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain Finance, this position leads the financial evaluation of manufacturing network strategies, major investments, capacity decisions, automation initiatives, and gross‑margin opportunities. The Senior Manager partners with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, MSAT, Engineering, Procurement, and Finance leadership to translate operational strategies into clear financial implications and recommendations.

The position also leads Network FP&A and supports the continued expansion of Supply Chain Finance beyond CARVYKTI to Legend’s broader pipeline. The role oversees consolidated planning and performance management while developing the financial frameworks, analytics, and team capabilities required to support future growth and commercialization.

Key Responsibilities
Network Strategy and Decision Support
  • Lead the financial evaluation of manufacturing network strategies, including capacity expansion, volume allocation, product transfers, sourcing alternatives, and network configuration decisions.
  • Develop scenario analyses that assess COGM, gross margin, capital requirements, cash flow, operational risk, and long‑term financial implications.
  • Serve as the primary Finance partner for strategic network‑capacity planning and provide clear recommendations to support leadership decisions.
Strategic Investments and Business Cases
  • Lead financial evaluations for automation, capacity expansion, technology investments, new facilities, and other manufacturing and supply‑chain initiatives.
  • Develop robust business cases incorporating NPV, ROI, payback, cash flow, depreciation, COGM, gross‑margin impact, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Lead the financial assessment of make‑versus‑buy, internal‑versus‑external manufacturing, CMO sourcing, and manufacturing‑footprint decisions.
Gross Margin and Network Competitiveness
  • Lead network‑level financial analysis supporting long‑term gross‑margin expansion, manufacturing productivity, and cost competitiveness.
  • Partner with Site Finance and operational leaders to identify, evaluate, prioritize, and track cross‑site productivity and cost‑improvement opportunities.
  • Develop financial roadmaps connecting volume growth, operational improvements, automation, network optimization, and capital investment to long‑term margin objectives.
Portfolio Manufacturing Finance
  • Provide strategic Finance support for manufacturing and supply‑chain decisions associated with pipeline products and future commercialization.
  • Evaluate product economics, financial flows, manufacturing locations, capacity requirements, sourcing strategies, and investment timing for new programs.
  • Integrate pipeline assumptions into manufacturing‑network strategy, capital planning, and the long‑range financial outlook.
Network FP&A Leadership
  • Lead consolidated budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning, performance management, and reporting across the manufacturing and supply network.
  • Oversee the Manager, Network FP&A in coordinating site submissions, maintaining planning models, consolidating results, and preparing management reporting.
  • Challenge financial and operational assumptions and synthesize results into clear insights, risks, opportunities, and recommendations for leadership.
Executive Business Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted Finance advisor to Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, MSAT, Engineering, Procurement, and Finance leadership.
  • Represent Supply Chain Finance in relevant operating, planning, governance, and leadership forums and act as a delegate to the Director, Supply Chain Finance when appropriate.
  • Translate complex operational and financial information into concise, decision‑oriented recommendations for senior leaders.
Finance Transformation and Analytics
  • Establish priorities for Network Finance transformation, including planning models, dashboards, reporting automation, advanced analytics, and scalable data solutions.
  • Partner with Finance, IT, and data teams to improve the availability, quality, governance, and use of manufacturing and supply‑chain data.
  • Drive standardization and automation to reduce manual processes and improve the speed, reliability, and decision usefulness of financial insights.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Network FP&A team, establishing clear objectives, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
  • Build team capabilities in manufacturing finance, strategic modeling, analytics, executive communication, and business partnership.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and high‑quality financial analysis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field required.
  • Advanced degree and/or relevant professional accounting/finance qualification preferred.
  • Significant progressive experience in FP&A, manufacturing finance, supply‑chain finance, strategic finance, or a related discipline.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing economics, COGM, gross margin, capacity planning, inventory, productivity, and capital investment.
  • Advanced financial modeling and business‑case development capabilities.
  • Strong FP&A, forecasting, long‑range planning, performance‑management, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to translate complex analysis into clear executive recommendations.
  • Strong business‑partnering and influencing skills across functions, sites, and leadership levels.
