Job summary

Watts is seeking a Sr. Manager Manufacturing Engineering and Automation to lead a team of engineers and technicians in optimizing production processes, equipment, and facilities at our Export, PA site.

You will drive capital projects, ensure safety is prioritized, and align engineering with manufacturing to achieve cost, quality, and throughput goals. The role requires a strong background in Lean Six Sigma, NPI, and project management, with a track record of delivering improvements in

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, EMET, Industrial). MBA preferred.
• 10+ years in manufacturing processes, NPI, machinery, and documentation.
• Extensive Lean Six Sigma experience for continuous improvement.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and design.
• Significant project management experience in product development/manufacturing.
• Proven leadership of diverse teams.
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office or equivalent).
• Familiarity with laws, codes, safety practices, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of engineers and technicians involved in developing optimal production processes, plant layout, tooling, and standard work.
• Oversee development and implementation of manufacturing processes to improve cost, efficiency, and functionality.
• Ensure alignment between engineering and other manufacturing departments for cohesion.
• Manage development and projects for new capital equipment to improve processes.
• Provide safety-focused direction on projects and designs.
• Drive cross-functional problem solving to achieve continuous improvement goals.
• Develop and evaluate engineering changes and specification requirements.
• D irect in-house tool, jig, fixture design for efficient production methods.
• Support new product development (stage gate) with proper launches.
• Oversee BOMs, routings, SOPs; ensure accurate production data for new products.
• Collaborate with operations to optimize plant layout and material flow.
• Support control debugging, upgrades, and automation efforts as needed.
• Travel <10% domestically and internationally; other duties as assigned.

This position is responsible for supervision of engineers, technicians, facilities, and maintenance. This position reports to Director of Operations. This role is onsite and is based in Export, PA. **Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities*** Lead and support a team of engineers and technicians that are involved in developing optimal processes for production including plant layout, machine selection, tooling, and standard work* Oversees the development and implementation of all manufacturing processes to improve product cost, efficiency, and functionality of the factory.* Ensures alignment between the manufacturing engineering team and other manufacturing departments to promote a cohesive relationship* Responsible for the development and project management of new capital equipment to aid in improving manufacturing processes* Provide direction on projects to ensure that safety is a priority and an integral part of the design and implementation of all and any projects* Influence and drive cross-functional problem solving to ensure the attainment of continuous improvement objectives* Develops and evaluates engineering changes and specification requirements* Directs in-house design of product tools, jigs, cells, and fixtures to ensure efficient, optimized production methods* Supports new product development (stage gate process) by ensuring proper and effective support of new product launches* Oversees the on-time creation of all manufacturing documentation (BOMs, routings, work instructions, SOPs) and ensures that production rates and machine cycle times are available/accurate/consistent for new products per the project plan* Works directly with operations and continuous improvement to optimize plant layout, material product flow, and plant efficiencies* Support any and all control debugging, upgrades, and automation efforts as needed in the factory* Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by Company management.* Responsibility directly tied to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency)* Travel Requirements: less than 10% both domestically and internationally **Required Qualifications*** Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, EMET, Industrial); MBA preferred* Ten+ years’ experience with manufacturing processes, new product introduction, machinery, and documentation.
