Job summary

Nutrien's Augusta Nitrogen facility seeks a Sr. Manager of Maintenance and Reliability to lead maintenance strategy, safety, and reliability programs.

You will drive capital project coordination, budgeting, and spares optimization while guiding a team of engineers and technicians toward best-in-class equipment uptime. Qualifications

• Over 15 years of experience in plant maintenance and operations.

Responsibilities

• Supports and promotes safety processes and drives continuous improvement with Process Safety Management (PSM)
• Oversees maintenance activities ensuring safe and environmentally responsible operations
• Directs MRO stores, procurement, obsolescence, and safety stock management
• Manages maintenance procedures, safety, and emergency planning
• Leads performance reviews and SMART goals for the maintenance team
• Develops site plans aligned with corporate maintenance and reliability efforts
• Plans and implements preventive maintenance and reliability programs to minimize costs
• Directs turnarounds and outages with focus on safety, quality, schedule and cost
• Ensures training and development of maintenance supervisors, engineers and technicians
• Collaborates with Operations and Technical managers to prioritize work based on risk
• Analyzes plant reliability data and develops improvement plans with Operations
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
• Supports long term capital projects to address reliability problems

What You'll Do:

• Actively supports and promotes the behavioural safety process and all the site’s SHE goals. Ensures, supports, and drives continuous improvement with Process Safety Management (PSM) such as MOC’s, PSSR’s, PHA’s, Procedure reviews, emergency response, etc.
• Oversees, directs and coordinates all site maintenance activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
• Oversees the effective operation of MRO Stores, procurement, manage obsolesence and review min, max and safety stock.
• Directs the administration of maintenance procedures and practices, including safety and emergency procedures related to job planning and execution.
• Manages performance within the Maintenance team by ensuring the preparation of SMART performance goals, job descriptions and conducts employee performance reviews.
• Developes site plans and programs that are in alignment with overall Corporate Maintenance & Reliability efforts.
• Builds succession for key roles within the Maintenance team.
• Direct the development and implementation of preventive maintenance, maintenance engineering, spending control and other programs required to minimize maintenance costs while improving equipment reliability.
• Direct the planning and execution of all turnarounds and outages with a focus on safety, quality, schedule and cost.
• Ensures the ongoing training and development of the Maintenance Supervisors, Engineers and Technicians, in accordance with the department’s Certification Program to identify and close gaps.
• Work collaboratively with the Operations and Technical managers to prioritize work based on risk while managing resources and maintenance metrics.
• Reviews and analyzes plant reliability data and develops plans with Operations and Technical personnel to improve plant reliability.
• Ensures that the facility is operating in compliance with the applicable regulatory body and company requirements
• Works with the Technical Department on longer term (capital projects) solutions to reliability problems.
• Develops, implements, and maintains an efficient data gathering and reporting system to provide management with key performance indicators on plant maintenance.
• Accountable for developing and managing the annual maintenance budget including outages, turnarounds and non-routine items and ensures budget compliance
• Recommends capital (and/or expense) projects to improve safety, production, and/or prolong equipment life.
• Interacts and coordinates well with all levels of department personnel, other site personnel, contractors, local regulatory officials, and local community members.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree, preference in Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience in plant maintenance, operations, or equivalent experience will be considered.
• Minimum 5 years experience at a managerial or supervision level in a related industry
