Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced manufacturing leader to champion safety, first-time quality, and team development across operations sites in WA and FL. You will oversee manufacturing engineering, quality, tooling, supply chain, and production execution for multiple work centers, driving cost-effective, high-quality components for vehicle programs.

• Demonstrated knowledge in building or supporting production operations and change management initiatives.
• BA/BS degree or equivalent in Operations Management or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 6+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge and experience.
• Experience leading, growing, and developing teams within an integrated supply chain organization.
• Knowledge in manufacturing, production, assembly, procurement, and logistics in a low-volume, high-complexity environment.
• Strong business acumen; ability to challenge status quo and drive change.
• Experience creating and managing work cell standard work and tracking deviations.
• Experience supporting capital improvements and layout changes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with teams, internal customers, and suppliers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Champion safety always and first-time quality across all functions while growing and developing your team.
• Lead manufacturing operations to include manufacturing engineering, quality, tooling engineering, supply chain, and production execution for a portfolio of work centers across Blue Operations sites as required.
• Execute initiatives and strategies that deliver common components which are cost effective, high quality, and meet or exceed operational performance requirements supporting vehicle development programs within the Business Unit.
• Implement methods to increase engineering, production efficiency, quality, and productivity to include factory flow and higher throughput within existing floor space, improving first pass yield, increased overall output, improved learning curve, and improving supplier on-time delivery.
• Share key operational learnings and best practices to support improvement across Operations.
• Analyze processes and operations followed by implementing improvements for safety and quality that reduce unit cost and accelerate delivery schedules.
• Support the development and implementation of data-driven systems with a lean approach focused on delivering results.

Minimum Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge in building or supporting successful production operations and contributing to change management initiatives that influence culture, define tools & processes, and improve competencies.
• BA or BS degree or equivalent experience with emphasis in Operations Management or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 6+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge and applied experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Experience leading, growing, and developing teams within an integrated supply chain organization.
• Solid knowledge in manufacturing, production, assembly, procurement, and logistics in a low-volume, high-complexity environment.
• Strong business acumen. Demonstrated experience challenging the status quo, driving change, and motivating individuals to develop and implement new ways of thinking and doing business.
• Understands how to create and manage work cell standard work and track deviation from that standard work.
• Experience supporting capital improvements and layout changes.
• Highly effective and professional verbal and written communication skills with team, internal customers, and suppliers, including a strong focus on teamwork and customer satisfaction.

Base Pay Range for:

WA applicants is $171,093.00 - $239,529.15
