Job summary

Regal Rexnord in Radford, Virginia, seeks a Sr. Manager Engineering, North America Applications and Systems, to lead the Applications and Systems engineering team in NA and to bridge customer needs with product engineering.

You will drive policy deployment, manage projects, and coordinate with production, quality and engineering to deliver robust solutions. This role is hands-on and team‑oriented, with emphasis on pre‑ and post‑sale engagement and budgeting.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years in industrial automation with strong customer interface.
  • 5+ years in application/systems engineering or design engineering with leadership.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead NA Applications and Systems Engineering for North America.
  • Drive policy deployment targets and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate pre‑ and post‑sale customer engagements and field service.
  • Schedule field service, manage team budget, and travel up to 40%.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality and Engineering teams on product testing.

Job description

We are seeking to fill a Sr. Manager Engineering, North America Applications and Systems position located in Radford, Virginia, USA. This position is responsible for the management of the Motion Control Systems (MCS) division Applications Engineering and Systems engineering team in North America. Functional reporting is aligned with the product engineering team with dotted-line reporting to the MCS Global VP Sales as all the primary activities of this role are customer facing.

A qualified candidate should have strong problem-solving abilities. Interest and willingness to work and contribute within a collaborative team is a must. This role is well suited for a person interested in a hands‑on and team‑oriented environment.

The Job Entails a Combination Of Driving Changes Consistent With The Policy Deployment And Strategic Plan And Daily Management Of Supporting The Application Needs Of Key Customer Accounts. This Is Highlighted As Follows

Primary Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Both pre‑sale and post‑sale customer engagements are in the responsibilities of this role.
  • Responsible for leading, tracking and maintaining data for Policy Deployment Targets to Improve and Key Performance Indicators and achieving them through a closed-loop, continuous improvement and problem‑solving approach, involving:
    • Driving changes through kaizens and process improvement,
    • Developing tools,
    • Building the team to support the growth of the business.
  • Responsible for setting the standard work that establishes support structure and interfaces with other functions of the business, and in a standardized way for North America
  • Responsible for assisting North America Production, Quality and Engineering teams with defining quality issues and testing new products in development per customer requirements.
  • Responsible for scheduling field service visits for troubleshooting, commissioning and training purposes.
  • Responsible for managing the budget of the Applications and Systems Engineering team.
  • Travel up to 40% to customer sites.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Understanding of motion control theory.

  • Experienced with reading schematics and wiring, shielding and grounding practices.
Education And Experience Requirements
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field required. Master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years of industrial experience in Industrial Automation in a technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years application engineering, systems engineering or design engineering with heavy customer interface required.
  • Management or leadership experience required.
