Job summary

American Airlines is seeking a senior Crew Scheduling Leader in Fort Worth, TX to oversee a 100+ staff in a 24/7 operation. The role ensures flight crews stay compliant and available, while guiding teams to meet complex operational goals.

You will implement procedures, manage staffing, and collaborate with Inflight, Labor Relations, and cross-functional teams to optimize recovery after disruptions and support ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7 years of related experience.
  • Operational experience with a focus on continuous improvement in processes and leadership.
  • 5 years of leadership experience in crew operations or customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the successful tracking of our flight crews ensuring they remain legal and available to complete their sequences
  • Implement procedures and practices for accomplishing departmental objectives and maintaining contractual compliance
  • Responsible for internal staffing levels ensuring there is coverage to support the operational plan
  • Leverage data or reporting to recommend optimal solutions for complex challenges
  • Lead a team of supervisors helping them to develop as leaders of people, guiding them to do so in a way that allows them to effectively meet operational goals
  • Works closely with Inflight and Flight Labor Relations, IOC Leadership, Safety and Regulatory, APFA and APA teams
  • Partner with IOC Technology and IOC Analytics team to continue improving speed to recovery following IROPS
  • Drives the onboarding process, which includes all aspects of the selection process, and the support of the training program for new hires
  • Leads, supports, and motivates their team in their stated career progression, which includes providing opportunities for them to apply learned skills

  • Responsible for leading a staff of 100+ Crew Coordinators, Crew Trackers, Crew Tracking Supervisors, and Crew Schedule Managers on Duty in a 24/7 operational environment

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Operational experience, particularly with a focus on continuous improvement in both processes and leadership
  • 5 years of leadership experience in crew operations or customer service
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
  • Superior organizational, analytical and leadership skills
  • Ability to concurrently handle multiple responsibilities
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Must pass background reference check and criminal fingerprint check
  • Ability to respond to customer inquiries, provide appropriate solutions and follow up to ensure resolution
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify unique department needs while balancing overall employee

  • Extensive working knowledge of the APA/APFA working agreement, crew scheduling procedures and related Federal Air Regulations preferred
  • General knowledge of Company policies, procedures, and programs
