Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking a finance professional to join the team in Fort Worth, TX, to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for the South Region. Key Responsibilities May Include
  • Development of processes, models, and reports to accurately monitor and forecast expenses.
  • Performing balance sheet accruals, analysis support, metric reporting, and other projects relative to informational needs of business partners utilizing various tools.
  • Supporting the execution of the South Region’s capital plan.
  • Leading and facilitating monthly budget reviews and forecasts with South Region Engineering leadership.
  • Assisting in the development of performance measures, strategic initiatives and annual plans.
  • Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
  • 4 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or comparable industry experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to challenge and influence business partners with expense leverage concepts.
  • Ability to coordinate tasks and make decisions independently.
  • Ability to adjust readily to multiple demands and shifting priorities.
  • Personal computer skills (Office Suite) and ability to effectively use BNSF data systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of work experience in budgets and/or forecasting, or comparable industry experience.
  • Master's degree in Business or Accounting.
  • Apply statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, or data mining techniques to uncover patterns, trends, and insights.
  • Good understanding of BNSF’s responsibility income statement and forecast process.
  • Working knowledge of financial statements and accrual basis accounting and Engineering operations.
