BNSF Railway is seeking a finance professional to join the team in Fort Worth, TX, to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for the South Region. The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering leadership and business partners to drive accurate expense planning and performance metrics.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in accounting/finance, with 4 years of relevant experience; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Key Responsibilities May Include

• Development of processes, models, and reports to accurately monitor and forecast expenses.
• Performing balance sheet accruals, analysis support, metric reporting, and other projects relative to informational needs of business partners utilizing various tools.
• Supporting the execution of the South Region’s capital plan.
• Leading and facilitating monthly budget reviews and forecasts with South Region Engineering leadership.
• Assisting in the development of performance measures, strategic initiatives and annual plans.
• Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
• 4 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or comparable industry experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to challenge and influence business partners with expense leverage concepts.
• Ability to coordinate tasks and make decisions independently.
• Ability to adjust readily to multiple demands and shifting priorities.
• Personal computer skills (Office Suite) and ability to effectively use BNSF data systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of work experience in budgets and/or forecasting, or comparable industry experience.
• Master's degree in Business or Accounting.
• Apply statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, or data mining techniques to uncover patterns, trends, and insights.
• Good understanding of BNSF’s responsibility income statement and forecast process.
• Working knowledge of financial statements and accrual basis accounting and Engineering operations.
