Senior Manager, Quality Assurance - Quality Control (QA/QC) required for Leading Packaging Manufacturing firm

A leading packaging manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Manager, Quality Assurance - Quality Control to lead its Quality function. This role is critical in ensuring that all packaging products meet stringent quality standards, regulatory compliance, and customer expectations across diverse industries including food, pharmaceutical, and consumer goods.

The successful candidate will drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems (QMS), ensuring alignment with ISO 9001, GMP, and industry-specific compliance standards such as SQF, BRCGS Packaging Materials, and cGMP.

The Senior Manager, Quality Assurance - Quality Control will have the following responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the QA/QC team across multiple production lines and shifts in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, GMP, and customer-specific quality standards.
• Oversee internal and external audits, including ISO certification audits, customer audits, and supplier quality assessments.
• Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for quality, yield, and customer satisfaction.
• Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate pre-audit preparation activities, including documentation reviews, facility readiness, and team training.
• Act as the lead liaison during both internal/external audits, ensuring timely responses to auditor inquiries and follow-up actions.
• Manage Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and lead cross-functional teams in problem-solving initiatives.
• Collaborate with R&D, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure quality is embedded throughout the product life cycle.
• Maintain robust documentation and trace ability systems in compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
• Lead initiatives to reduce waste, improve first-pass yield, and enhance product consistency.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related customer communications and issue resolution.

The ideal Senior Manager, Quality Assurance - Quality Control candidate will have the following skill set:

• 10+ years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control within packaging manufacturing or a related industry (e.g., plastics, paperboard, flexible packaging).
• 5+ years managerial experience managing cross-functional quality teams with a proven track record of up-scaling direct reports and leading high-performing teams
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Materials Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Deep knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP, Packaging Materials,
• LEAN/Six Sigma certifications a plus, but not required
• Experience facilitating third-party and customer audits, including audit planning, execution, and post-audit corrective actions.
• Strong understanding of audit protocols and regulatory expectations in packaging manufacturing environments.
• Proven track record of leading successful quality improvement initiatives and audit readiness programs.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
