We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Department Manager to lead a team focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) solutions for software defined vehicles. In this role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of AI/ML-based systems, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, and reliability standards. You will also foster a collaborative, agile environment that empowers innovation and growth. This team works cross-functionally with embedded software, systems, hardware, and advanced development teams to deliver high-quality solutions that support Astemo’s vision. As a people leader, you will shape strategic initiatives that align with Astemo’s transformation into AI first mobility solutions provider.
The following are the primary responsibilities (other duties may be assigned as needed):
The ideal candidate will have:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence or Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
Experience: Minimum of 10 years applicable experience in automotive.
Job level determined by various factors such as organization size, responsibility, career stage, and capabilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Leading and mentoring the efforts of engineers who are responsible for sub-project activities.
Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Travel: Domestic and international may be required as needed. The candidate will occasionally need to travel to multiple global locations to support project development.
