Job summary

CONMED is seeking a Senior Machinist to set up and operate 4- and 5-axis mills, Swiss machines, and live-tooling lathes to produce close-tolerance medical device parts. You will verify new set-ups and conduct first piece runs to ensure conformance.

Responsibilities include in-process inspection, maintaining tight tolerances, and training less experienced staff while optimizing throughput with zero defects. Read/interpret G and M codes; visa sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of experience operating advanced CNC production equipment (Swiss, lathe, mills with live tooling).
• Completion of the Senior Machinist Assessment is preferred.
• Currently employed as a CONMED CNC Sr Machinist is a plus.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret G and M codes.

Responsibilities

• Set up advanced CNC machinery including 4- and 5-axis mills, Swiss machines, and lathes with live tooling.
• Operate multi-axis CNC equipment to fabricate close-tolerance parts.
• Maintain tight tolerances while meeting production rates.
• Verify/new set-ups through validation and first piece inspection.
• Perform in-process and first piece inspection; train others.

Job description

As a Senior Machinist, you will have the opportunity to utilize mills, lathes, mill-turns, and Swiss machines (among others) to produce close-tolerance parts for our medical products. A major area of responsibility for this role will be the set-up and operation of a variety of production machinery to produce close-tolerance precision medical device parts, with an emphasis on verifying and validating new set-ups for production and first piece runs.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Set up advanced CNC machinery such as 4 and 5 axis mills, Swiss machines, Lathes with live-tooling, etc. and operate advanced multi-axis CNC equipment, tools, and accessories for the fabrication and cutting of materials to process component parts.Maintain close tolerance dimensions while producing parts at the rates established for a given operationPerform verification/validation of new set-up programs for new product or pre-production parts. Perform in-process and first piece inspectionComplete offset adjustments to multi-axis equipment to ensure product conforms to strict toleranceProvides training and technical training to less experienced employees.Work Experience Requirements:Two of the following requirements:Minimum of 2-4 years of experience operating advanced CNC production equipment. Examples of advanced equipment include Swiss.
