Job description

Position Title: Sr Machinist (1st and 2nd Shift-C)

Location: US-PA-Red Lion

Responsibilities

• Assists with installation, operation, testing, and adjustment of various types of conventional or automatic machines used to produce precision parts and instruments.
• Fabricates and modifies parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
• Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
• Measures, examines, and tests completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.

Required Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree.
• Technical training preferred.
• Mathematical skills, technical expertise, manual dexterity, physical stamina, ability to stand for long periods of time, leadership skills.

Physical Requirements

• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
• May be requested to work a different shift.
• Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
• This position is Safety‑Sensitive.
