Formación

• Active CA LVN license with IV therapy and blood withdrawal certification.
• BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross.
• Phlebotomy, CPR, injections within scope of practice.
• Ability to take vital signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed.
• Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.
• Knowledge of common and/or life-threatening medical problems.
• Proficiency in computer skills and electronic patient care systems.
• Knowledge of safety requirements handling biohazardous specimens or contaminated instruments.
• Interpersonal skills to maintain a cooperative working environment with physicians, staff and health providers.
• Verbal skills to convey sensitive information courteously in person or on the telephone.

Description

The Department of Neurology is looking to hire a Sr. LVN to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population. In this dynamic role, you will work side by side with clinic leadership, administrative teams, faculty physicians, fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as medical assistants and ancillary staff, to provide seamless, team-based patient care.

You will be at the forefront of clinical excellence, applying your expertise to assess patient needs, recognize both routine and significant changes in condition, and respond promptly and appropriately. Your ability to prioritize, coordinate, and carry out established clinical protocols will be essential to upholding the highest standards of safety and care.

Hourly range: $38.54-$50.84

Qualifications

Required:

• Possess active license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners with Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Certification
• Possession of BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Performs phlebotomy, CPR, injections and other skills within scope of practice.
• Ability to take vital signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed.
• Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.
• Knowledge of symptomatology of common and or life threatening medical problems.
• Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, Windows computer function, computer navigation and ability to use computerized patient care systems
• Knowledge of all safety requirements when handling biohazardous specimens or contaminated instruments.
• Interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with the physicians, staff and all health providers
• Verbal skills to effectively convey sensitive information in a courteous manner in person or on the telephone.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures
• 6+ months of LVN Experience
