Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a seasoned life-safety designer to lead drafting and design for complex facilities in the United States. You will integrate AutoCAD and Revit MEP to coordinate 3D BIM models with architectural and engineering teams, ensuring compliant, constructible solutions.

You will develop layouts for fire alarm, gas detection, and access/security systems, working across disciplines to meet client requirements and industry codes. This role offers hybrid flexibility across U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of drafting/design experience.
• NICET Level II certification.
• Experience with Fire Alarm Systems, Voice Evacuation, Gas Detection, VESDA, Access Control, CCTV.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and drafting of life safety and security systems for advanced facilities.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in life safety systems design, ideally in complex industrial or high‑tech environments.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across disciplines.

Requirements

• Systems design experience with Fire Alarm Systems, Voice Evacuation, Gas Detection, VESDA, Access Control, CCTV.
• NICET Level II certification.
• AutoCAD and/or Revit experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3‑5 years of Revit design experience.
• Knowledge of IFC, IBC, NFPA 70, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signaling Code.
• Knowledge of fire/life safety systems and manufacturer’s equipment.
• Industrial design experience.
• NICET Level III certification, or the ability to obtain this certification within one year of hire.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $80,600.00 to $121,880.00; it will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
