Position Summary

We are opening a Senior Legal Project Management Analyst in our Chicago office. This position is hybrid and offers work-from-home flexibility. The Senior Legal Project Management Analyst works closely with the Senior Legal Project Manager and pricing and analysis professionals to optimize client communications, staffing efficiencies, and financial performance. This litigation-focused role involves recommending and implementing process improvements, risk assessments, educating and training attorneys and support staff on LPM and best practices, and enhancing knowledge management. The role includes tracking matters from inception to close to promote effective outcomes and budget adherence, and contributing to new business opportunities by advising on past client/matter experience and providing analytical support. Continuous learning is required to keep pace with developments in legal project management technologies and best practices.

Essential Functions

• With oversight from the Senior Legal Project Manager, develop matter scopes, budgets, timelines, and internal/external status updates with responsible attorneys.
• Assist with management of large accounts or matters with complex variables and budgets.
• Collect and organize account and matter data; facilitate knowledge-sharing among attorneys, clients, and professional staff; communicate progress and any budget or timeline adjustments to key stakeholders.
• Develop, implement, and maintain legal project management tools, resources, and technologies; facilitate adoption by attorney teams to enhance efficiencies. Tools include software applications, templates repository, internal checklists, databases, workflows, and custom reports.
• Identify, prioritize, and execute process improvement projects.
• Quantify and record risks; recommend mitigation strategies.
• Research historical matters and prepare analyses to inform and compare budget proposals; build a database of quantitative and qualitative data to enhance pricing accuracy.
• Document and maintain detailed records of procedures, assumptions, methodologies, and sources of information used in analysis.
• Continuously improve the quality and accuracy of work product.
• Perform additional duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

The Senior Legal Project Management Analyst should bring a strong blend of business and legal acumen, with a bachelor’s degree (preferably in accounting, finance, or management) and at least two years of litigation-focused legal project management experience within a law firm or corporate legal department. Candidates should combine analytical precision with strategic thinking, using advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and a working knowledge of Power BI to transform complex data into actionable insights. Experience with SharePoint, SQL, or database management is a plus. A deep understanding of corporate finance, budgeting, and legal operations supports the ability to connect metrics with meaningful business outcomes. Highly organized and detail-oriented, the candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, meets shifting deadlines with creativity and composure, and communicates clearly with a collaborative spirit and integrity to deliver top-tier client service.

The salary range for this position is $100K to $130K. Salary ranges are based on good faith belief at the time of posting and are not a guarantee of final offers. Base pay is location-based and may vary with job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Full-time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
