DeWinter Group is seeking a Sr. / Lead Software Engineer with deep C#, .NET, and Azure expertise to drive AI-enhanced development on the East Coast.

The role combines hands-on coding with technical leadership across architecture, testing, and API design. You will mentor teams, promote best practices, and integrate AI code generation tools like Claude and Claude Code while maintaining high standards for software quality and discipline.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience with a focus on C# and .NET
• Strong design, development, debugging, and maintenance of production-grade applications
• Deep understanding of software architecture, service-oriented design, and API development
• Experience with automated testing strategies including unit, integration, API, regression, and end-to-end testing
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud environments and troubleshooting cloud apps
• Proficiency with Git, pull requests, and code review practices
• Ability to mentor and lead engineering teams and promote best practices
• Hands-on coding and problem-solving across complex systems
• Experience reviewing and refactoring code written by others
• Practical experience with AI code generation tools (Claude/Claude Code) and establishing usage standards

Required Skills

• Proven expertise in designing, developing, debugging, and maintaining production-grade applications
• Strong understanding of software architecture, service-oriented design, and API development
• Extensive experience with automated testing strategies including unit, integration, API, regression, and end-to-end testing
• Hands-on experience working within Microsoft Azure cloud environments, including troubleshooting cloud-based applications

• Embedded or kiosk application development, especially on dedicated devices or edge environments
• Hardware/software integration experience with peripherals like printers, scanners, and payment devices
• Knowledge of device communication, connectivity, and troubleshooting for fleets of physical hardware
• Familiarity with scenarios involving constrained or intermittently connected environments

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience in building, supporting, and optimizing service-based applications and APIs
• Proven track record of mentoring engineering teams in agile development environments
