Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Ohio seeks a Lead Infrastructure Engineer within Infrastructure Platforms to apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and processes in the infrastructure engineering discipline and to evolve technical knowledge beyond the current domain.

Qualifications

• Initialize/add new DASD volumes and perform space management (VTOC resizing, defrag, compress/reclaim/clean datasets).
• Manage SMS rules and ACS routines and reorganization of storage datasets.
• Catalog management and reorganization using Catalog Recovery Plus.
• Experience with RACF/ACF2 security rules.
• Knowledge of mainframe storage products (HSM, VSAM, GDPS) and related tooling.
• Problem determination and RCA preparation and meeting SLAs.
• Participation in 24x7 on-call and off-hours technology events.
• Experience leading AI-assisted development tools with emphasis on correctness, performance, security.
• Understanding responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling, resiliency and security.

• Drives a workstream or project consisting of one or more infrastructure engineering technologies
• Works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes
• Executes creative solutions for the design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity
• Strongly considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions
• Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
• Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Initialize / add new DASD volumes and Add new tape volumes. Perform the space management activities such as VTOC resizing, Defrag, Compress / Reclaim / Release / Cleaning of datasets.
• Manage and Define SMS rules and ACS routines along with reorganization of storage dataset (HSM CDS & Catalog file).
• Catalog Management and reorganization using Catalog recovery Plus.
• Exposure to audit and knowledge of RACF/ACF2 security rules
• Knowledge of various storage products like HSM, Vantage, STOPX37, DSS, JCLs, VSAM,CA1, CSM, DS8K, VTS (TS7700’s) and GDPS replication. Adopt the given technology to meet the drift of customer and business requirements.
• Problem determination and resolution within expected time frame. Root Cause Analysis preparation and meeting Service level agreement for submission.
• Participating in 24x7 on call and off-hours technology events
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Disaster recovery planning and performing the recovery test (Tape recovery / DASD Replication / Tape Replication) and Managing the Copy services / GDPS.
• Develop, document and maintain procedures for system utilities such as backup/restore, performance tuning and configuration of environments as well as incremental backups as required.
• Skilled in programming in REXX or other languages strongly desired
• Exposure to ZOWE or other mainframe AI capabilities
• Effective communication and team skills with an ability to cooperate, present to and participate with peers/team members
• Developing automation, tooling, reports, and utilities to assist in mainframe access administration
